  1. I have a couple of Arri magazines for sale on eBay. Displacement mags for ARRI 35mm IIC type camera ~ fits most ARRI MOS cameras. They are in excellent working condition ~ never had any problems with jams or scratches.   3. Hello all, I am looking for an Arri3 super35 Ground Glass with 1.85 markings. I have recently been in contact with Visual Products who don't have them, and Shurcotools who manufacture them in the US, but they could not guarantee me shipment on time (Im leaving for a shoot in Africa at the end of the month and I cannot buy it unless I can get it before this time). In any case - anybody who manufactures/ sells these ground glasses, preferably in Europe? Thanks!

As a side project we have created a little free tool called "metavisor" to directly view and extract metadata of Arri Raw files inside your web browsers with simple Drag and Drop technology Link to metavisor: metavisor I would love to get some feedback from the pros here: What you think about the tool? What would you like to be improved? How important is viewing and export of metadata to you? Is the current tool with installation (Meta Extract) provided by Arri too cumbersome to use? What free webtool would you like to see concerning production / postproduction / vfx ? The tool is still in beta phase. We are also planning to extend the functionality to the other capture formats the Alexa supports, RED, Sony's cameras and connect the vfx/lens data information to our database and make it available to the digital workflow community.   8. The pG UB1 bridgeplate is for 19mm rods and compatible with all Red cameras, Arri Alexa Studio, Arriflex 235, Arriflex D-21, Arriflex 435, Sony F23, Sony F35, Sony F65, SI-2K, Phantom and Weisscam HS-2. Its a european quality product made in the Netherlands for a fair price.

  9. Hello! Last year I was a part of a student production called "Punctum Temporis". A 10-minute, no dialogue, short film. My first time operating a Red One camera, so I believe I might could have gotten more out of it. Although I co-directed and wrote, I would like get some feedback on my cinematography for this one, as this is the branch I really want do continue doing. This was a small production with only eight crew members, so I ran the lighting and camera operating myself, while my camera assistant pulled the focus. Would appreciate any feedback!
  10. My brother and I own a modified Arri SR1 and would like to get some accessories for it. I apologize in advanced- we are more familiar with lighting and grip than with camera. We are looking for the following items: -New right handle w/trigger (we have one, but the trigger is sticky so we'd like to find a new one, possibly a left handle as well) -Back body cap (right now we keep a magazine on it to keep it covered up) -Shoulder pad (we could build our own little pad but were hoping to find something that can mount tot he camera) Also looking for a vintage tripod and head too if anyone knows any places in LA (or San Francisco) that sells old film camera parts and accessories.   11. I'm selling my very rare Arriflex 16 Fiberglass Blimp. This is for use with either a 16S or a 16M and and mounting plates for both are included. This was purchased a few years ago from forum member Tim Carroll who also ran the great website www.arri16s.com. Tim did a beautiful job of restoring this gorgeous piece of filmmaking history. The lens pictured is not included. The 16M camera and mag is not included, although they are for sale separately (see separate listing). They are in these photos only to demonstrate how a camera would fit inside the blimp. I also am separately selling a Tobin TXM-22A motor that would go very well with this blimp. The blimp's shutter advance knob seems just a few mm too short to reach the Tobin's knob, so you may want to fashion an extension on the rubber knob that reaches toward the motor on the inside of the blimp. One of the two latches is broken on the wooden shipping case but everything made it to me ok with that broken and it's always held shut firmly enough with just the one latch. Also, the power cable that connects a 12V battery (4-pin Cannon) to the outside of the blimp will need to be rewired if you intend to use the blimp for anything besides decoration. This cable provides power for the camera inside to run, as well as power for the interior lightbulbs so you can push buttons and see things inside like the fps tachometer. The cable was just old and brittle and started melting in one spot (a couple of photos are included). The connectors both look fine, so I would guess a technician could make you a replacement cable or two. I just haven't had time to get that done. The seals on the two doors (the top magazine door and the side camera body door) don't seem quite as tight as they were a few years ago so that may be one other thing to have checked if you intend to use it for the purpose it was designed. When I first got this from Tim, it did an amazing job of silencing a very noisy 16S, but I have not tested it recently. The thought that went into the intricate design of this blimp is really impressive. It is in excellent condition. I would love to keep this as decoration for my apartment but I'm moving and I know I just won't have space, so I'm selling it. $800 O.B.O. Please send me a PM if interested.   14. Hi everyone- I'm a Chicago-based filmmaker. I kinda do a little bit of everything; and lately, I've also been picking up a lot of AC work. I'm finally getting to the point where I need to put a small belt together alongside my AC kit. Nothing huge. I want to keep it light. So - I had a few questions regarding the belt itself. (not accessories and tools.) I really like the Arri 3" Padded belt: http://www.filmtools.com/arri-belt-1004-ar.html However, a lot of the Lindcraft pouches I'd like to get only support 2" belts: http://www.filmtools.com/linmintoolpo.html http://www.filmtools.com/linasbelpouc.html My questions are: 1. Has anyone owned/tried this particular belt? From the looks of it, it looks like it may support 2" pouches as well, but I can't find any confirmation on this. 2. Any suggestions for a 2" belt that is similar to the Arri one above? I really want the good padding because I'm a skinny guy and after a while a regular belt would start to hurt. I also really like the Arri because it has the extra loops which would be excellent for my uses.   15. Hi, I have a couple of questions for our next (student) short we will be shooting in the first half of April. At first we wanted to go 16mm (anamorphic), but it's quiet expensive for us. And wide angle anamorphic is a problem with 16mm. We're still thinking about it though. But it's probably going to be the digital way. Now the short is about half and half daylight and nighttime. Probably a bit more at daylight. We're thinking about renting a Red-epic since it's a lot cheaper (than an Alexa). But I'm a bit "scared" for the nighttime shots with the epic. We will be passing neon street lights, in car shots which can get pretty dark, etc. What do you think? Will it be ok? Second question is about post production. We love the (16mm) celluloid organic look, and specially for this film. We were wondering how this is professionally emulated/achieved. Are there a couple of ways? I add professionally since we were thinking about festivals etc. (I read somewhere that adding a random grainy look is okay for youtube videos but not for more serious stuff.) Thanks ahead,
  16. Hi, I have a set of used cables for an Arriflex 16S. They are a little cracked due to the substantially aged rubber – but worth saving if possible. Is there a preferred brand of compound for fixing power cables, something that can handle frequent location use? I want something that will bond with the rubber, essentially getting rid of the cracks / separations, but that will be safe for electronic use as well. Any ideas or recommendations welcome.   21. Hello, I have a question about Hawk-Woods MDV Link system. I have a 16mm camera which requires a 12v 5-7A power source with 4-pin XLR out. At the moment I'm using a sealed acid motorbike battery, but it's heavy and it takes ages to charge it. The question is: can I use a Hawk-Woods DV-F970 LLithium-Ion Battery ( which is 7.2V 47W 6600mA) and Hawk-Woods DV-XLRR MDV 12V Step-Up Power Adaptor to power the camera? I'm not really good at electricity, please help me. Thank you.
  22. Used optically correct ANAMORPHIC VIEWFINDER for mounting on Optical viewfinder cameras like KONVAS 35mm motion Picture camera. Starting price is only $90 UN-squeezes image from anamorphic lens. Focusable for image of 35mm frame size from approx.3"-6" from end of front element. Eyepiece glass and front end clean WITH NO scratches or marks. Removable locking collar for connection to Konvas cameras. Tested and works fine on Camera ITEM is being sold inexpensively as only guaranteed to work with KONVAS style russian type viewfinders 'as is' A new collar could possibly be moved, removed or adapted to match other optical eyepiece cameras such as ARRI BL or others. Cannot guarantee fit but discussion from others have indicated that end shaft diameter would fit many other optical viewfinder prism or mirror mounts.   23. The quick release bridgeplate is compatible with Arri camera's (like the alexa) and the Red One. It goes for 299 euros. For the Red Scarlet and Epic you need an additional bottom plate. For the Arri Alexa you need the plate that already comes with the camera. You can also use it as a more heavy weight rods system for your big zoom lenzes on the Canon C300.
