  1. Howdy! I'll being shooting handheld on trails and want to smooth out the inevitable shakes. I was hoping to us the Serene Arm with the Gravity One, but the rental house I'm using doesn't have the Gravity One currently. They've given me a Puppeteer but my understanding is that it is primarily for gimbals. So! My question is: Is there any way I can utilize the Puppeteer in a similar way to the Gravity One? Is there a different piece of gear I could use in conjunction with the EasyRig to smooth things out? I have to make the best of what I've got. Thanks!
  2. Currently a cinematography student at the Northern Film School in Leeds, I'm in the process of researching for my dissertation the subject of 4k, and what this means for film. Specifically, I'm studying the impact that 4k is having on producers/studios, consumers, and the production process itself. To aid in my research in the latter section, I'd like to know whether shooting on 4k causes any changes for camera operators in terms of shooting requirements, extra research/learning or a change in operating style etc. Any information or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thankyou!
  3. Given the recent cold front that has forced most of the U.S.A. into winter, I've had a few shoots outdoors and am reminded that I never did find clothes that I thought were the best for cam ops. I have generic base layers for skiing but as an operator in the sports world you are not moving any where near the amount as a winter athlete since we frequently have to hold a shot steady for an extended amount of time and don't have the ability to move around and warm up. Also, I am looking for a good pair of tight, not bulky gloves that can keep your hands warm but still allow you to operate a camera on your shoulder. Any advice on base layers, mid layers, and gloves?
  4. Hello all, So I film on the Blackmagic Pocket Cam, which is infamous for how fast it heats up. Now I've never had a problem with it overheating, I have generally been filming in A/C cooled indoor areas. However, I'm beginning production for an upcoming film, and most of the filming will be done outside... oh, and lest I forget, I happen to live in the great state of Texas where the average Summer temp. is around 96 degrees Fahrenheit. I'm a little worried about it overheating in the outdoor temperatures. So my question is: how do you keep a camera cooled down without damaging it with ice/water?
