Ok so I’m a student going head first into cinematography. I have been in classes for 3 years and it’s time for my own camera. But I have no clue what to get. I won’t spend more than 2,000. Can you help? I was thinking ether g95, g95, gh5, gh5s, or a7sii. Please give me differences and comparisons to help me narrow down my search. Thank you?

I hope this is the correct forum for my question. I'm using a Panasonic GH5 with V-log L. I'm a bit confused on using V-log L. I was told that the reason for using log in general is to save the highlights (especially the sky in outdoor shoots). But in most forums, they are advising to over expose the shot to get rid of the noise in the shadows. But doing this blows out the skies. Therefore, I think there is no sense in shooting with log. Just shoot with a standard profile and light the scene correctly as v-log can't save both highlights and and shadows at the same time. The problem is, it's not easy to do this when shooting outdoors run and gun in the morning when the sky is in the shot. Am I thinking correctly or am I missing something? Thanks! God bless!

Dear guys, I'm going to Hong Kong for a photography project (and I also want to shot some 150 fps). I want to get the look of this picture in a GH5 with a Leica Summicron R (f2) and I'll probably use a Minolta flash. I'm looking for a 4x4 filter that can helps me to reach the following look on camera. Do you have some recommendation? Thanks, best S.

Heeya guys I'm considering buying a small camera for travelling, just got back this summer by a crazy hitchhiking trip to Nordkapp and the only regreat I have was not having a camera I could have put together a sweet 4min video with. My first choice is the sony a6500 (also considering shooting in Log, I do lots of grading for work). Also buying an adaptor to the E mount. If I wish to spend a bit more money, I'm considering something between GH5 and alright the a7s II but that might be slightly too expensive for a travel camera, compared to a a6500 which can be 1000E cheaper. I've never been fond of the GH4 model, I don't know why, I guess it's something subjective but I prefer a camera that works really well in low light than having a true 10bit 4:2:2 like the GH4/5... Any consideration on the matter? Thank you :)
