  1. Hey everybody, I'm considering investing in a 12mm cine lens for my BMPCC and while browsing I've come across the Kowa Prominar Micro Four Thirds lenses. They don't have geared focus rings, but do feature both F-stops and T-stops interestingly enough. Does anybody have experience with these lenses? All the footage and photos I've seen from them are quite lovely, but would they really be worth the extra money I might spend on them versus, say, a Rokinon or SLR Magic cine lens?
  2. Rare set of three lenses for sale: 35mm, T2,5 50mm, T 2,5 and a 80mm, T2,4 All with PL Mount Lenses come with: - front cap - rear PL cap; - new suitcase The price for all three lenses is USD 36,000. Lenses have metric scale. These are Russian vintage ANAMORPHIC NAS Lomo lenses with PL mount. They were used for a big movie recently and then inspected and serviced by Pure4C (Munich) These are 35mm camera format lenses. We used lenses on RED EPIC 6 K. These lenses create the vintage anamorphic look with amazing flares. Lenses are in great optical condition for their age. Focus rings works smooth as for 35 years old lens There are normal signs of use on lens casing. There is a possibility for a lens test in Berlin before purchase. The test costs € 80,-- (two hours) if you bring your own camera or 240 Euros (two hours) at a rental house including a RED camera Buyer must pay for the test in advance I advise to pick the lenses up in Berlin. I will not guarantee for damages during shipping! For more photos or questions: antonwelser@arcor.de

  4. Looking to purchase a set of pre-owned Cooke Anamorphic lenses. Please email sales@broadcastsolutions.com with pricing and details.
  5. Wondering if anyone has purchased a lens or had a cine modification done by PCHood/Cinematics company in China? They rehouse many different lens brands. It looks like they just put new housing over the top of existing lenses like the Zeiss ZE or Sigma 18-35. But wondering if the Cine mod increases the focus travel of the Still lenses? Could be a great solution. Thanks! Doug

  7. Good afternoon everyone, I have a run & gun gig coming up in the foreseeable future for which I'd like to give the new BMPCC 4K a shot (I don't technically own one yet, but hopefully will reasonably soon). Due to the job's specific nature, I will require an extremely lightweight and portable setup. I've done similar work in the past and always suffered from having to work with primes (both in terms of weight and overall practicality), so this time I decided I'd rather stick with a single zoom for the entirety of the shoot. On a full-frame camera I would probably just opt for the Sigma 18-35 f1.8, but being the new BM Pocket M4/3, I don't think that would give me enough range to handle a broad enough variety of situations. I've done a little bit of research for suitable options and found that quite a few people seem to be praising the Olympus 12-40 f2.8 M.Zuiko PRO as a good one for video. Has anyone here had any experience with it? Or would you know of any interesting alternative covering the same/similar range (24-80 equivalent)? I've also read that a few people appear to be very happy with C-mount vintage options, such as the Angenieux 12-120mm f2/2 (amazing range and constant aperture) but it weights a ton and the whole point is to retain flexibility while shooting. Also another set of issues that I've had with vintage Angenieux in the past has included very noticeable chromatic aberrations, heavy breathing and vignetting (all things that I would want to avoid for this project). However, if you're aware of any vintage lens that might fit the bill I'd be more than open to consider it. Please let me know if you have any recommendations for me, as I could gladly use some. Wish you all a lovely rest of your day and thank you for having taken the time Best, Filippo

  9. Hi all. Excited to ask my very first question on this forum! For an upcoming short, I'm trying to achieve a pastel, somewhat low-contrast color palette in a bright daytime exterior, very much like the attached reference image from Vertigo. Being a micro budget project, I don't have the opportunity to pre test a bunch of filters or lenses. Any recommendations on filtration for this reduced contrast, slightly blooming look? For the project, I'm using the Ikonoskop A-Cam DII. I own this camera, and the colors from its Super16 Kodak CCD sensor feel inherently pure and dare I say film-like. I'm pairing it with oldish glass, the Cooke 9-50 Varokinetal (T2.5). I've rented this lens before and it is not only affordable but renders a very creamy three dimensional image. I've attached a sample I shot with this configuration, no filters. Just need to turn that into something less contrasty, more talcumy, more "vintage" for lack of a better word. Thank you! Jall
  10. Hi all, I'm going to be shooting a short film in the very near future on the Sony FS5. The Camera only comes with a kit lens, so I was wondering whether it was worth sourcing another lens to work with. I know friend's have pretty pricey Canon lenses, but I'm unsure whether these would be better or worse. The film is going to be shot mostly outside on location, shots of buildings and streets etc. If anyone has ideas, let me know. Thanks.
  11. Hey everyone! If you have a spare moment, check out this 2min film I shot called ‘Land of Steel’. Shot on ARRI Amira using COOKE S2 Panchros. Vintage lenses re-engineered by TLS (40+ year old glass in modern housing) Shot in Port Talbot late last year. With Blade Runner (1982), Ridley Scott drew his vision of the future from this surreal and vast location. LAND OF STEEL https://vimeo.com/260825061 Supported by Michael Sheen - https://goo.gl/6zwXFF Thank you very much hope you enjoy! Lee
  12. Hello everyone, 4 lenses for sale, in excellent working condition. A nice complementary set, all in PL mount: 3x Carl Zeiss and 1x Panther Carl Zeiss Distagon 8mm T* 2.1T Carl Zeiss Distagon 16mm T* 1.3T Carl Zeiss Distagon 25mm T* 1.3T Panther Cinar Super 16 35mm 1.3T Information on the Panther: "in the 1990s Panther got these lenses custom made in small batches. Since there is no 35mm lens in the Zeiss lens set for Super16 and since the 8mm Zeiss lens would not cover Super16 it makes sense to get such lenses custom made to complement a Zeiss lens set." £3800 for the set.
  13. I've recently purchased my first S16 camera (Aaton XTR Prod) and I'm looking to make an investment in a zoom lens I can use for allround purposes and no-budget projects that I can still use on productions where we have the budget to rent e.g. Ultra16s, Super Speeds, S4s/SK4s - Hoping someone in here can give me some advice on the topic. I'm interested in a zoom that has the following properties: PL Mount Close focus of 0.75m or closer Has at least 12-30mm range Preferably ~T2.8 or faster Covers S16 fully For these requirements I've narrowed my options down to either: Angenieux HR 11.5-138 T2.3 Angenieux HR 7-81 T2.4 Cooke 10.4-52mm T2.8 (CVK) Cooke 10.8-60 T3* (CVK) Cooke 10-30 T1.6 (CVP) Cooke 9.5-53 T1.6 (CVT) Cooke 10.6-52 T1.65 (CVT) I didn't include the Canon Zooms as I don't feel like they give me the look I am going for. I also didn't include Zeiss Vario Sonnars in the list because their close focus is too far. But they may be workable with a diopter. I'm afraid of losing sharpness however. Any thoughts? Any other lenses that I might have missed in my research are much appreciated. Do you have any advice on these lenses. And which do you prefer?
  14. I have three Zeiss ZF.2 lenses for sale and two adapters. Each one has a custom lens gear and screw on front diameter adapter (35-50 = 77mm front, 21=95mm front). The lenses can be delivered with indexed aperture or de-clicked. Your choice. The lenses have seen very light use and are in like new condition. The two adapters take the Nikon mount ZF.2 lens and convert them to either Canon or Sony camera mounts. Both adapters have been gently used. 21mm f/2.8 $1000 35mm f/1.4 $1200 50mm f/2.0 makro $800 Novoflex Nikon to EF adapter $50 Metabones Nikon to Sony E-mount adapter $50 Prices do not include shipping. 15. Hi there, I'm currently on the hunt for the best entry level camera, lens, tripod and slider for filming/photographing landscapes. I have some money to spend but would still like to not break the bank entirely. If anyone can suggest what they think is the best combo of gear I would be super appreciative. Thanks in advance! Andrew
  16. For the purposes of future testing for a project, I would like to get some opinions on the various characteristics of some Super 16mm primes. Flares, bokeh, sharpness, contrast, color temperature, the works. Lenses in particular I would appreciate information on are... Zeiss Super Speed Mk 1 Zeiss Super Speed Mk 2 Optar Illumina s16 Cinema Products Ultra T Any other prime sets that have both 16mm & 25mm focal lengths. I'm really only interested in prime lens sets, no single primes like the Angenieux 5.9mm or any zoom lenses.
  17. $159,950 Very nice condition. email me for pictures. carson.lori61@gmail.com
  18. hey guys, im trying to set up a black magic cinema camera 4k onto a movi m5. Does anyone know which lens setup is compatible and which ones are not? I just want to make sure so I don't overload the movi m5. The max paylod on the movi 5 is 5lbs, the black magic is 3.75 lbs, that leaves like 1.25 lbs for the lens. Thanks.
  19. Hi all, I'm selling a lightly used set of Angenieux Optimo DP Rouge zooms, one 16-42mm and one 30-80mm. I'm the original owner and took good care of them. The lenses are optically perfect and display only light wear on the bodies. They've also been checked recently via Panavision. Each lens comes with a custom flight case, plus the original documentation, spare colored rubber rings (blue and red), a zoom stick, a zoom support. I'm also including 2x 8" 15mm rods and 1x screw on zoom motor bracket. As you probably know, these lenses are quite spectacular. I'm in Los Angeles and prefer local pickup if possible. Also of interest, the pair were made later in the production cycle, after the rear element housing was re-engineered to be slightly lower profile. The package includes: 1x Angenieux Optimo DP Rouge 16-42mm lens 1x Angenieux Optimo DP Rouge 30-80mm lens 1x flight case for 16-42mm 1x flight case for 30-80mm 2x zoom sticks 2x sets of original documentation, plus spare blue and red rings 2x 8" 15mm iris rods 1x Duclos zoom motor bracket $20k for the set. Photos available upon request. Thank you!
  20. Not exactly cinema level gear but I figured I would list here anyways. Selling a set of EF Leica R lenses I've had for a few years and never use anymore. They're great little lenses (sharp but still have character/creamy out of focus areas) but things are all PL these days. All Duclos modded and matched, declicked, ect. All are EF mount so great for any doc red/alexa shooters who want something small and simple. 77mm front threads so they work with photo filters. (I've got promist 1/4, soft fx 2, lowcon, variable ND, Pola I'd be willing to part with as well) Set includes a 19mm 2.8, 24mm 2.8, 35mm 2, 50mm 2 See the ebay listing below https://www.ebay.com/itm/LEICA-R-lens-set-EOS-DUCLOS-cine-mod-Late-Serials-19mm-24mm-35mm-50mm/332518855882 It's hard to find pricing info on a set this small but cost is based on the cost to rebuild the set. Open to negotiating of course.
  21. Hello Sorry if it's a silly question but i'm new to all that ... These lenses from this RENTAL STORE are made for 35mm Film cameras ... right ?? (ARRI Master Prime , ZEISS T 1,3 , ZEISS T 2.1, Cooke S4, Cooke Zoom 20-100mm, Ultra Prime) And also are compatible with Cine PL digital cameras like ALEXA, RED, Canon EOS C300PL etc ... Right ?? But according to this chart ... If I want to use a 18mm lens in the way Kubrick it .. it's impossible with the Digital cameras .. Right ?? And the CLOSEST to that is Canon C300 with 99% !! Right ?? So the Canon C300 is better on that point than the high end ALEXA and AMIRA ?!?! And what is the solution to achieve an 100% result ??? Thank you !!
  22. Good Soviet Lenses. OPF15 - rare enough, but not perfect. $ 2100 OPF-7-1 is good, $ 2300 if just two - the discount. I can send.
  23. Proceeds from Sales of Sculptures & Assemblages to Benefit City of Hope Writer-director Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Cloverfield), Oscar®-nominated cinematographer Jeff Cronenweth, ASC (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network), and cinematographer Ernie Holzman, ASC (Without a Trace, Cora Unashamed, Thirtysomething) present “Ernie Holzman: Life ReFocused,” an art show celebrating film cameras and lenses from the 20th century. The event takes place on November 12, from 4 – 7 p.m. at RED Studios Hollywood, where assemblages and sculptures created by Holzman will be for sale, as well as a rare print of the iconic set of Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window.” All proceeds benefit cancer research at City of Hope. After being diagnosed with Stage IV non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2011, Holzman underwent surgery and two rounds of chemotherapy. Unable to work, a good friend gifted Holzman with a collection of vintage filmmaking equipment. The cinematographer deconstructed every camera and lens, and was ultimately inspired by the aesthetic beauty and elegance of the equipment, which had been commonplace in his career, to create art. By selling the pieces he has designed, Holzman wants to “pay it forward” and acknowledge the life-saving work of Dr. Barry Rosenbloom at Tower Oncology. Holzman told American Cinematographer magazine, “The opportunity to create art, and ultimately have this showing, has not only been enormously healing for me, but has given my life greater meaning than I have ever known.” City of Hope is a world leader in the research and treatment of cancer, diabetes, and other serious diseases. They deliver scientific miracles that make lives whole again. Founded in 1913, City of Hope is one of only 49 comprehensive cancer centers in the nation, as designated by the National Cancer Institute. The event is open to the public. RED Studios Hollywood is located at 864 N. Cahuenga Blvd, Los Angeles, 90038. No RSVP is necessary to attend.
  24. What dependable companies or individuals can you suggest for lens services? I want to have a set of 70s/80s Canon FDs cleaned and serviced (slight dust, fungus, haze). Additionally I'd like to remove the lens coatings. They will ultimately be rehoused so mounts/seatings are not of concern. The entire kit may include: FD 14mm f/2.8L FD 20mm f/2.8 SSC FD 24mm f/1.4L FD 35mm f2 SSC ii FD 55mm f/1.2 ssc ASPHERICAL FD 85mm f/1.2 L ASPHERICAL I'm based in the states (midwest) but am talking with GL Optics/Nan to rehouse them. So could be open to someone near him in China.
  25. I'm looking to buy a single 18mm Zeiss Super Speed outside of a set. Mk II or III preferred.
