Hi, Does anyone knows how to expose this film in the two configuration mentionned ? is it possible to have good result in low light by pushing in development ? (any experience with that ?) I am opened to any tips regarding reversal film treatment as a 1st AC (conservation, use and elese ...) For upcoming projects, i am wondering how it would look like. The first one is a low light / hangar / industrial environment with light coming from a dancefloor with 5 people on it (the aim would be to have color effect / aberration and dynamism like in the 'domino' movie, the dancefloor lights would help accomplishing this nighclub ambiance) The second one is more of a natural ambiance in bright daylight with characters in the frame running on a road and other narratives sequences in the city ... hi everybody! i'm Marco, dop from italy. i'm going to shoot a short movie set in 1840: night, indoor, one big room. One of the options (due to logistic and creative choices) is to light up the set only with the candles. we'll use an alexa mini and i'm looking for the best lenses at full aperture (1.4T, i think), so possibly with less aberration, softness, low contrast... in this interview, Gavin Finney explains advantages and disavantages of shooting in canldelight in 2015. i really love is work and i found out that they shoot with Leica Summilux-C. Onestly, i don't know if we can afford them, so i'm looking for something slightly cheaper (between 500-1000 $/€ daily) i tried the Zeiss Super Speed MarkIII, very very cheap, nice and "vintage", but i find them terrible at T1.3. Can anybody help me? thankyou! M
Looking for some exposure help when shooting moody scenes with the FS5 - I have seen a lot of people recommending setting the zebra to 70 percent ( which makes things pretty bright on the monitor for a darker scene/ is this something people only do in LOG? ) are there any other usable on camera exposure tool other than zebra?. Don't use Sony's much and am more used to Using a REC 709 LUT or false colors within my ALEXA eyepiece to expose. Also, should I be switching from LOG3 to cine gamma for lower light situations? Also any general tips for exposing low light scenes without crushing the blacks?
I am working as DOP for a short microbudget student film, shooting on the Canon C300. The plan for one particular scene is to follow the actor from behind, handheld. This is a night time exterior scene, with only a lamppost and the moon for light sources (we were unable to gain permission to use electricity, and there is no money in the budget for a generator). The main problem though, is that I am short - 5ft2 to be exact - and the actor is at least 6ft4. I was planning on shooting this myself - do you think that is still possible, or should I find a taller camera operator?
