  3. Hi all :) When using a metabones speedboster, how do you really gauge the true aperture the lens is giving you? I mean from a practical point of view, you keep it mind that you get +1 stop of light hitting the sensor. But from a tech point of view, if your lens is set at let’s say 2.8 (and it’s the fastest the lens can get to), does the camera shows you the added stop? Or is it a passive speedboaster that doesn’t trasmit aperture values? In case it doesn’t trasmit that, you just keep in mind that if the lens is set at 11, you could set f/8 on your light meter? So in practice can you use a ND 0.3 paired to the speedbooster to get a slightly shallower depth of field without having to change your lens aperture? Thank you, Stefano
  4. Selling my old Gear as i have a raven now. Looking to get $1250 for this setup. All items have cosmetic wear. Sigma 18-35mm is Nikon mount, Speedbooster is the pocket cinema camera version and both have no issue. The pocket camera glass in front of the sensor needs replacement or just removed; Would have done this but would rather sell at a give away price. Location NYC PM me if interested Cheers
  5. I have an F3. Wondering if the new Metabones T CINE FZ to EF adapter works on the F3? Not just in theory...but has anyone tried & tested it? Is the FZ mount and camera connectivity the same on F3 as F5/55?
  6. Hi all. I wonder if anyone owns the Nikon G to BMPCC Speed Booster from Metabones? It says it works with Nikon G lens. But my question is: Would this work with a Zeiss ZF.2 Nikon mount? I've seen reviews of many people mentioning only Nikkor an Sigma lenses used with this adapter. But I need to know if it works with the Zeiss. Thanks, Flavio
  7. I can't decide between buying the Blackmagic cinema mft camera with the metabones speed booster or the Blackmagic production camera. The pros for the Production camera: No Moire, less aliasing, globall shutter, 4k = really sharp 1080p The pros Blackmagic cinema camera mft with metabones: Better in lowlight, more dynamic range, wider field of view I just want the one that looks more cinematic, but I can't decided which one that is. , Thanks for your help.
  8. I thought I'd put this here since I didn't seem to get a response in the other section. I'm currently the DoP on a short film called "Circadium" being shot in Rochester. We're shooting on the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. I figured since I learn something new every day on this forum, maybe you would all like to see how this film progresses. We shot the first scene of the film on our first day of shooting, which was this morning and afternoon. I'll try to get more framegrabs of future scenes from my director, I just have 2 for now, but any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Shot on BMPCC, ISO400, ProRes Film, Nikon Speedbooster and Nikon AF-S 17-35/Vintage Macro
  9. Hey all, Just wanted to share a new music video that I directed. The video is for a Seattle band called Iska Dhaaf and features cameos by many current Seattle musicians including Macklemore and members of The Lonely Forest. Entire video was shot with two Blackmagic Cinema Cameras. We used a variety of Nikkor lens from 1970s to get the look. Project was cut in Premiere CC and graded in Resolve. Check it out and let me know what think. Thanks!
