Hi guys, One of my Preston DM1 motors needs a replacement bearing as the motor has become noisy. Does anyone know how to disassemble one of these? Thanks, Joe

HI All, I'm thinking of selling my Preston system but would like some advice from the market place on it's value. It is a MDR2 HU2 G3 System with Digital Micro Force, 3 x DM1 Motors a Preston Focus / Iris Handset G3 and also a Preston Wireless Microforce Zoom Control Also G3, Still has the original Iris Hardwire control and cable as well 2 x custom made, 1 x long and 1 x short Zoom Y Cables for panhandle use as well as 2 x Panhandle brackets, 1 O Connor Style and one Panavision multi adjustable style It has 32 Focus Discs a whole array of cables for focus etc as well as many various bracket options and MDR Mounting solutions, Also a Back Pack system for the MDR that powers from any Anton Bauer Gold Mount Battery along with a 10' 2 x Motor and Command Cable Loom The Handset has the Sony Battery Conversion and there are 5 small Sony 2 Medium and 2 x Large Sony Batterys as well as 2 x Sony Double smart Chargers and an assortment of aftermarket chargers as well All in a large Pelican style Case. As you can see it is quite a substantial kit and has served me well for many years. Selling my MDR2 because I recently upgraded to an MDR3. It has a normal wear and tear but still works great, I've never had any issues with it. Please message me with any questions. Hey everyone, I am working on a feature right now, (pretty low budget), and recently the Preston follow focus system kind of stops working at random times. There is power running to the MDR, the battery in the hand unit will be very much charged, but the system will not work. I have tried changing frequencies, changing out motor and power cables, repositioning the MDR, and I am running out of ideas. A little more info on my set up; we are shooting on an Alexa Mini, we have a Teradek Bolt 300, and sometimes we put the camera on a steadicam. Whenever the system stops working, I unplug and plug the motor or power cable back in and then it works fine until it goes out again. When it stops working, the MDR will have its lights on, but no one is home. If anyone has experienced this or has any advice, please let me know. Thank you so much!

This is a transmitter and receiver that was designed to make the hard wired iris control from Preston into a wireless system. The unit for sale includes the (hard wired) iris control hand unit from Preston, the cradle that connects the iris control to the transmitter and battery, the receiver, and a Heden M26VE motor. Sale also includes (motor and power) cables, battery for the transmitter, and a battery charger. (additional blank iris disk included) This unit (receiver) is wired the same as the Preston and so will drive a Preston motor with the standard Preston cable. I used this system with a Preston 3 motor system. The focus and zoom were plugged into the standard MDR and the Iris was plugged into the small receiver. The design of the cradle allows the hand unit to sit upright without additional brackets. This unit can be used to drive any of the gears of the lens - so it could also be used as a remote focus device. ****Update**** Some people have asked if I would sell it without the motor. Hi. I have an odd question. I'm making a front box with a section for holding Preston marking rings. I need to know the width of a Preston HU3 Marking Ring (the pre marked ones) so I know how wide to cut the slot. Does anybody in the world have one they wouldnt mind measuring for me.
