Hello, I have a short film approaching and some of these shots are in a very tight space, allowing only me as an operator to be close to the action and the actors, forbidding the use of a 1st AC. Due to budget and time reasons we are using my FS7m2 with the 18-110mm G OSS F4 Sony lens. As I discovered, my 1st AC can remotely control the camera thru the Sony wifi dongle that comes with the camera and a smartphone. I have successfully manage to connect the camera with my iPhone and to my surprise all the controls work flawlessly and with no lag. Except the focus control slider that is very very slow and not usable. Does anyone ever used the wifi controls with an Fs7? Do you also have problems with the focus? I am very disappointed as this would have make quite a difference in these tight shots. Thank you, Hector Papageorgiou

Hi all, I'm going to be shooting a short film in the very near future on the Sony FS5. The Camera only comes with a kit lens, so I was wondering whether it was worth sourcing another lens to work with. I know friend's have pretty pricey Canon lenses, but I'm unsure whether these would be better or worse. The film is going to be shot mostly outside on location, shots of buildings and streets etc. If anyone has ideas, let me know. Thanks.

Is it mostly based of preference? The one's I know by name are Canon, Sony, Zeiss, Cooke's, Leica's, Sigma's, Panavision, Arri and Rokinon. I like the Zeiss super speeds because the smoothness of the gears whenever on I'm on a follow-focus rig. Also the sigma's quality I really love. Rokinon's are pretty decent for their price when you need to get something like a knock-off zeiss, I've heard people say. I own two Roks, really are impressed with them. So all in all, does it comes down to preference/price? or are there more factors?

Element Technica Micron camera mount with LW 15mm rail mount, dovetail, padded shoulder mount, and riser plate. This works with most Sony F series cameras (FS700, FS-7, FS-5, F-5, F-55, F-3) and Canon C series cameras (C100, C200, C300, C500). The mount is in great shape with only a few minor scuffs to the anodization. Works great, but I don't have access to an FS-7 camera anymore. :( This is being sold as a complete set, so don't ask me to part is out. PM me for details. This is a duplicate listing because I can't delete the original and this is a better picture of the camera mount.

Hello all, My name is Robert, currently heading into my graduate thesis film production, with a question about shooting two different cameras over one production. During prep with the director, the idea of shooting 2 cameras came up as I was camera testing with a Canon c700 and the Canon Cine Primes, which I have decided to use as an A camera. As it stands, our budget won't allow for a second c700 to act as B camera, however we currently have an f55 w/ Ultra Primes reserved from the school's equipment house. Having tested both cameras, I know that each camera possesses different characteristics and will not match right off the bat. That being said, does having a two-camera setup where the cameras are inherently different make sense given the differences in specs (color space, dynamic range, codex etc.)? Is it feasible given that it can be adjusted in the DI, and would it be possible to get the cameras close during production. Because of the different characteristics and looks, I have toyed with the idea of using each camera situationally based on their given strengths, but in some cases I would need to have a B camera available to support the A camera. I realize that I may be giving myself more work in the long run, and I'm sure there are things I am missing, but I would greatly appreciate any idea, advice and expertise on the topic. IMPORTANT NOTE: the camera is updated to version 7.01 and since it's one of the first units (Serial: 0100383) released it CAN ONLY be upgraded to version 8+ by Sony, which is a free procedure they provide. It's fully functional now and I've tested this version for 100h+ so far with no problems.
