  1. Cooke Varotal 20-100mm T3.1/ PL mount Zoom lens for 35mm motion picture format. Serial No. 787404 The lens has a re-polished front element, new cam-followers, and new rollers & bearings (focus & zoom). It has only been used twice (on two-day shoots) since this work was done. I purchased the lens through Serious Gear Company in Seattle for $5,878. Kit includes: Clamp ring support 15mm lens bridge pair 15x440mm stainless steel support rods fitted transport case. I have it listed for sale on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/222065415693 Starting bid: $4,000 Buy Now: $5,400 ABOUT THE LENS Lens designer Gordon H. Cook designed the 35mm Cooke 20-100mm, T3.1 Varotal zoom lens, released in 1971. It was the first high quality zoom designed for professional motion picture photography that incorporated a totally new design concept that has remained the basis for all Cooke zoom lenses subsequently produced. It was produced through the late 1980s. The lens was made with a sealed front focus unit and fixed front element that eliminated the risk of dirt and moisture being drawn into the lens and allowed for easy fitting of matte boxes and filter holders onto the front. The lens was enhanced with anti-reflective wide-band Varomag high performance coatings. This advanced technology achieved new standards in shadowed area definition, light transmission and durability, in addition to giving ghost and flare-free characteristics. Gordon H. Cook received the 1988 Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Gordon E. Sawyer Award for this and other technological advancements during his career as an optical designer.

  9. Hey Guys, I'm looking to increase the visual quality of my work by upgrading glass. Right now, I'm primarily working with Canon stills glass (24mm, 50mm, 85mm, 70-200mm), but i want to get a new lens set to take me to the next level. Just for discussions sake, my budget for each lens would be anywhere from $2-5,000. Do you guys have any suggestions? I'm open to either primes or zooms. Thanks, Sam

  12. This is a transmitter and receiver that was designed to make the hard wired iris control from Preston into a wireless system. The unit for sale includes the (hard wired) iris control hand unit from Preston, the cradle that connects the iris control to the transmitter and battery, the receiver, and a Heden M26VE motor. Sale also includes (motor and power) cables, battery for the transmitter, and a battery charger. (additional blank iris disk included) This unit (receiver) is wired the same as the Preston and so will drive a Preston motor with the standard Preston cable. I used this system with a Preston 3 motor system. The focus and zoom were plugged into the standard MDR and the Iris was plugged into the small receiver. The design of the cradle allows the hand unit to sit upright without additional brackets. This unit can be used to drive any of the gears of the lens - so it could also be used as a remote focus device. ****Update**** Some people have asked if I would sell it without the motor. Yes - willing to sell without the motor. PM me if you are interested.

  14. Apparently these are being called the "T-Series"? Panavision has pictures of two on their Twitter and Instagram. There's a 150mm T3 and a 37-85mm T2.8 zoom (front element like the two newer ones from 2007). Anyone heard anything else about these? Other lengths and so on?
  15. For sale - single owner/operator Canon 30-105 T2.8 Cine Zoom with Duclos Multi Mount (EF/PL). A fantastic work horse of a lens that we've gotten great use out of on the Epic, Amira, and C300. 16. Hi Guys, I'm strongly considering moving from a set of CP.2 primes to a pair of compact zooms to speed things up on set (I'm generally shooting single-camera narrative, with a bit of commercial work here and there), and I was wondering if people could share their thoughts on the options out there at the moment. We seem a little spoilt for choice with 'affordable' compact zooms at the moment, there's: - Angenieux DPs 16-42mm and 30-80mm - Zeiss Compact Zooms 15-30mm, 28-80mm and 70-200mm - Arri Alluras 15-45mm and 30-80mm - Canon CN-Es 15.5-47mm and 30-105mm Each seems to have their pros and cons: - The Angies are lovely, but top out at 80mm. - The Zeisses cover vistavision, but 15-30mm is a bit limited and would require more frequent lens changes than other options, and as nice as having 28-200mm covered in just two lenses would be, I think I'd feel limited on the (28mm) wide end at times with that combo. - The Alluras seem nice, but a little clean/uninspiring optically for my tastes - The Canons cover the most appealing focal range of the lot, but their combination of warmth and high contrast seems like it would be hard to match with a set of conventional cine primes.

  18. Hi, I purchased foton 37-140mm this morning for $250, and the best part is that it already has MFT adapter. Will use it on Blackmagic first. I never used this lens and there are very little reviews online about it. Although some footage looks great. Can anybody tell if that's was good buy or waste of money?) Few years ago I had Lenar zoom, and I liked it. A bit soft but good. I kind of trust Lomo now, and since Foton is made by Lomo it should be good, right?

  23. Hello everyone! I'm aware that there are numerous other topics about s16 zoom lenses. However, I'd like to hear your advice/thoughts on these particular PL-mount lenses (some of them only PL Adapters) mentioned below as I'm planning to buy one of them for my Aaton A-Minima PL. The lens will be used for more personal, S16 film projects (hence these "lower-budget" lenses): - Angenieux 9.5-57 T1.6-2.2 | PL Adapter on Arri Bayo Mount - Angenieux 9.5-95 T2.5 | converted to PL mount - Angenieux 12-240 F3.5 | converted to S16 with PL mount - Cooke 9-50 T2.5 | PL Adapter on Arri Mount - Zeiss Vario Sonnar 12.5-75 T2 | S16?? // PL Adapter - Zeiss Vario Sonnar 10-100 F2.8 | S16?? // PL Adapter on Arri Mount Looking forward on reading/hearing your thoughts about breathing, vignetting, combining it with a Minima etc. Thanks in advance, Alex
  24. Hi, I'm selling my Nalcom Synchro zoom FTL super-8 camera. I'm not clean on if it's the professional 800 or 600. I've tested all that I could, the automatic zoom works, aperture shifts with light levels, and I hear sounds coming from the film when I record, so I assume that works as well. The glass is perfect. Besides the camera this includes: Shinkor zoom 6.5-65mm f1.8 Shinkor close-up lens with leather case SLR-lens adapter (m42) with leather case 3 flare caps Soligor MK-10A flash Two pistol handles shoulder holder / strap Leather case Manual is great condition Detailed photos can be found here: http://s3.photobucket.com/user/michel000/library/Super-8%20Nalcom The easiest way to contact me is probably email me at fuse.core@hotmail.com
  25. Hello, There is a pretty considerable price difference between the Angeniuex optimo lens and the DP. Aside from the limitations of the Dp with film cameras, is there a substantial difference in image quality and lens speed between the two? I shoot red one MX.. I understand the housing on the dp is a little "cheapy" but for how much more I will have to pay for an optimo, is the image going to be that much more superior and in what ways? Thanks for the input! Tim
