Hi everyone, I own an Aaton LTR 7, and I was hoping someone would be able to offer some advice on a bridge plate / rig that would be compatible. The wooden grip handle that came with the camera constantly comes loose and is more annoying than practical for handheld shooting. I'd prefer to just sort a set up with rails and moose bars that I can adjust more easily. I found an ARRI BP-5 on ebay but it seems that they work best with 35mm / Digital cameras. Can anyone recommend an alternative bridge plate that could work? Any suggestions/ recommendations would be super appreciated! Thanks -

Offered for sale is a very clean used Aaton XTR Plus super-16mm camera system. The camera had a top-to-bottom overhaul at the Aaton factory in Grenoble approx 15 yrs ago and has been maintained by Abel Cine Tech since then. It has been stored for a few years and will get a service checkout in my shop prior to sale. At present it runs very quietly and draws .5 amp at 12.8 Volts without a magazine, which is right where it should be. This is a personal DP unit that has never been in rental service AFAIK. Package Consists of: Aaton XTR Plus camera body (# 16xx) w/PL mount , 1.66/ TV viewing screen, time code, hand grip, thread-in support rods. 1-Custom integrated B&W video assist with interchangeable cameras (included camera is B&W SD composite video). Mount is C-mount. Hi, that was the Laboratory of Self-taught Cinema - Experimental (STCL-X) in Brindisi, Italy. Me and my sister (the actress) founded the Lab as a way of gather all the filmmakers of the area, either professionals (I am an Electric, she's an Actress), either kids. Consider that the area of the Lab is dangerous, as robberies and gunfights happens very often (another robbery few hours ago), so this was mainly an effort of grabbing kids from crime. Eventually the Lab died in less than twelve weeks. However we were able to make two test: one digital on Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera, and the other on Film (old and damaged 7219, on AATON XTR and Angenieux 12-120). I performed cinematography, lighting, I also operated the camera, directed the shoot and loaded the magazine. You can download HD Telecine and 2K 16bpc DPX scans of the film test here, as the project is licensed (CC) BY-NC-SA This was our film test. It was just to try the Camera and Lens, and also to try my intended look for our next project. Then the following is an actual short; my sister improvized a monologue while I was preparing the scene. Hi there, I finally have gotten my Eclair ACL kit to work, and it has been out on a handful of jobs. I love it. Thing is, I am now making a video tap for it, to try to modernize and make it an alternative to the alluring SR's, and 416's of the world. One issue though is that the repairman that made my conversion, Bernie at Super 16 Inc, made the frame lines by hand. And that's all good for myself using it privately, but it does come across as a bit unprofessional in the working world. My question is, is there anyone in the Los Angeles area that potentially could make me a custom ground glass to replace what I already have in the camera? Preferably someone that knows Aatons internals (since they are basically an Eclair). //C

Hi all, wondering if anyone has any insights on this problem I'm having. I got my hands on an Xtera that's been in storage for 5+ years, and while its in darn good condition its got one weird problem - attaching the battery results in the camera instantly running. The test/run wheel's position seems irrelevant to this behavior. I've swapped the body fuses, but theres no change in this behavior. Im using the only battery that will actually charge, attached the VHR shows the battery at 13.7v Anyone ever experienced this or something similar and have any insights? Any chance Im doing something dumb and not realizing it?

I do not have any S16 film to run through it though. The camera looks like it is in great condition and needs a home that can actually love it (I basically just admire it). Hello, This is my first post so apologies if I don't quite know how to use this yet! I bought an Aaton XTR Prod earlier in the year and have now shot a few projects on it and have been loving it. However, the last project I shot has come out with noticeable jitter, as though the film is still moving down as the frame is being exposed, this creates a slightly soft image with an ugly shake. Luckily the film is a handheld rough and ready approach so it blends in OK and was usable. But I don't want to see this in future. I would like to find out how I can get rid of this. Could this be the camera, the magazines the way it was loaded, or the connection of the mag to the camera? The amount of jitter seemed to vary between mags. I had 4 mags. Any help would be appreciated in being able to fix this problem. Thanks! Joe
