Hey guys ! I'm trying to light a hall with ambient light, similar to the still I've attached from the film Blue Jean. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips for this type of lighting. Are there any lights outside the window? Or is this all natural? For our shoot, we're trying to create ambient blue hour in the hall, so everything will be a lot darker, but interested to hear people's thoughts.

Hi, I'm making a short film next year, and one of the scenes features two people walking the streets of a city, much like this ( see video below ) i was wondering if anyone could tell me what is the best way to light the actors to get that city night feel? or do i need any other lights at all, will the ambient light of the city do? keeping in mind my rig will consist of a glide cam, and a Canon c100 mk 2. so not much room for big lighting rigs moving with the camera, also its quite low budget film. any thoughts? Thanks Gabe

"Manhattan" - Gordon Willis again
Bill DiPietra posted a topic in On Screen / Reviews & Observations
I just finished watching Manhattan again. Once again floored by Gordon Willis' photography, does anyone know what lenses he used for the exterior shots with only ambient light? There are quit a few...not just the famous one by the bridge. Even better would be any articles I might be able to get my hands on. Thanks!- 5 replies
