https://www.ebay.com/itm/293635925639 Purchased last year and never tested it because the cost of testing and potentially fixing at the time would have been too high. I've since purchased a Super 16mm camera. The seller who sold this to me sold it to me as a "IIC", however upon inspection, this looks to be a standard model IIB as the ground glass is not removable and the shutter is not variable. Standard IIC's aren't variable shutter, however all IICs have a removable ground glass, this one does not so it is a IIB. The rotary shutter on this particular model is a "butterfly" shutter as is with every model after the IIA. The mirror is clean including the ground glass, internals look clean as well including the 4-perf gate. The ground glass baffles are still within the glass and unbent. Power cord is not in the best condition and as shown and the 3 pin XLR will often slide out of it's metal covering. The hand grip motor is untested. Upon rotating the shutter by hand, it seems to rotate smoothly and the lens turret rotates normally as well. This model has three Arri Standard mounts, unlike some models which have two standard mounts and a single bayonet mount. The viewfinder compartment door mechanism locks and unlocks as normal, and the mechanism that closes the eyepiece works as intended. The rubber eyecup is unusable as it has dry rotted. The 400ft magazine is again untested, but seems to be in good mechanical condition. The locking mechanism on the magazine locks and unlocks normally. The feed spindles and take-up spindles spin smoothly including the footage counter. The Matte box has signs of heavy use and needs cleaning. Overall the camera body and magazine appears to be in heavily used physical condition. Serial number of this camera is Nr.4221. Price is $999.97 or best offer + $120 shipping. Shipping will include signature confirmation and insurance via USPS Priority mail and will ship one business day after the payment is made. EDIT: Before I even get the question I am going to clear this up, because I've gotten it before. I CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THIS IS AN ACTUAL IIB AND NOT AN UPGRADED IIA. There were two models of the IIB in 1960. There was the Arriflex 35 IIB which had a 180 degree fixed shutter, and there was the Arriflex II BV which had a 0-165 degree variable shutter. It's very tricky because the serial number starts with Nr. on IIA models and No. on IIC models, but with IIB models, some used No. and some used Nr. It doesn't help that the IIB compartment doors could fit on IIAs and actually many IIAs were upgraded to IIBs by simply using the newer style magazine, compartment door, and handgrip motor. The II series started around 2000 and ended all the way well into the 15000s with the IIC meaning this could be a fairly early model IIB or a late model IIA. Either way it has the new compartment door, magazine, and handgrip motor making it either a IIA upgraded to a IIB or an actual IIB. I will say though, The internals look identical to the IIC at a glance, which the IIB was. The IIA internals were very different in appearance. It's very hard to find information about the IIA or IIB because the IIC dominated the MOS camera industry. I come to the conclusion that it is a IIB, whether upgraded or not, because in almost every instance it appears that way and I don't have an Arri technician to do a serial number lookup.

$400 OBO. This mount adapter lets you mount an older Arri Standard mount or Arri Bayonet mount lens on a PL mount camera. This is the much more complex type with two spring-loaded push buttons for release, and is compatible with lenses like old Cooke Speed Panchros in Arri Standard mount. Those lenses need the holding tab that this adapter has to let you focus. Very easy to pop lenses in and out by just pressing two the side buttons. Les Bosher was known for making these, although I'm not sure who made this one. I bought this one from Visual Products about 9 years ago. Duclos sells something similar new for $700: https://www.ducloslenses.com/products/arri-standard-pl-adapter Note, this works fine on most film cameras. I used it on my Arri 3C before I sold that last year. It may not be compatible with all PL mount digital cameras like the Alexa - the protruding back can collide with interior baffles. Located in Brooklyn, NY. Thanks for looking.

Hi there, I believe that this is probably something that has been discussed before. But I hope there are some new things that can be brought up with this question. I have an upcoming project in the fall, and the director and I have decided that we want to have the anamorphic look for a short we will be making. Now the flares are not the most important thing, but rather the vast image that we are going for. The problem is how to achieve it. First idea would be to use my own S16 Eclair ACL, with an PL adapter, and we were considering renting pure 1.33x anamorphics. But as far as I know, the only ones to rent at the Hawk's, and they would cost us pretty much the complete production budget to get a set. Second idea we had is to use a R16 Arriflex SR and put Kowa 2x on it. The real issue here would just be the wider shots, since we basically loose all the width in the image. Third idea is to invest in a Panasonic AG-LA7200 adapter, with a 0.25 diopter, and use B4 lenses on the ACL to get the image we are going for. I also have a person that can make a M4/3 adapter for the ACL, so any M4/3 solution would work as well, but honestly I am open to any ideas you might have. And yes, both me and director are 100% set on shooting on film stock. C

I recently bought an Arri 16S and it arrived earlier today. The camera seems to be fine (as far as I can tell) except for the on/off switch. The on switch presses down and clicks into place, however when I press the 'off' switch, the on switch doesn't spring back up. It works only if I hold down the 'off' switch and manually pull the on switch back into place. (Please let me know if I'm not being clear enough) Unfortunately I don't have a motor for the camera yet, so I can't test how it works with power. So does anyone know what the problem is? Does it need some oil for the 'on' switch/pin?

Hi friends. I have an Arriflex 16BL with tobin TXM-15 sync that I tried to use today. Its worked many a times before in the past. Today I hit the button to shoot; and nothing happens. What the hell? I take the mag off to see if it was jammed or something; and more smoke than cheech and Chongs car came wafting out of the gear area. Gosh darn it. I take the motor housing off and I see this- 5amp blown fuse. Okay but where was the smoke coming from?? My inching knob is broken as well. Any suggestions? I have all the pieces. The motor still turns by hand, have yet to get the replacement DC fuse. Questions now 1. The motor shows 9,5V motor. I have a 12v 7.5mah battery. Direct leads to a power cable, to Tobin system. Am I over-powering the camera with this battery? Or does the tobin system have some sort of conversion from 12v to 9.5v for the motor? 2. What do you think was the cause of the smoking? Upon inspection of what I could disassemble, I see no melted resistors or plastic or wires, etc. see pictures. 3. Suggestions on replacement of the inching knob? **** pictures to come****

Selling an Arriflex 24 FPS sync motor. I recently purchased the motor for my Arri 16S, only to learn it was for the Arri 16BL once it arrived. Like most vintage Arri products it's made mostly of metal and pretty much feels indestructible. I have no way of testing it but it looks to be in decent shape on the outside. All of the pins are accounted for on the power input and the plastic teeth on the motor wheel are intact. https://www.ebay.com/itm/362444487455?ul_noapp=true

$150 Very convenient item to have if you own an Arri 2C or 3C or 16S or 16M or 16BL or 16SR. The rubber eyecup (in v. good condition) has a spring so when you take your eye away from it, two doors inside the eyepiece close, blocking light and preventing you from accidentally flashing your film while rolling. Diopter adjusts and locks normally. Cosmetics are ok for the age. Glass is pretty clean - a couple of schmutz marks on the inside of the "rear" element as you can see in one of the pictures. Not visible when looking at an image. Located in Brooklyn, NY. Thanks for looking.

Hey all! Shooting a small music video on S16 soon, and wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the Aaton XTR vs. SR3 vs. 416. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each when compared against eachother? I'm seeing XTR packages are almost half the price of the SR3, and our budget is tiny so I'm trying to see what I'm giving up for the cheaper price.
