The top riser of this Neewer C-stand doesn't move at all - it may have at the beginning but after meddling with it once, it doesn't move anymore. I still have a warranty but they had asked me to cover the shipping fees for return (because I bought it from amazon) which is more expensive than the product itself. So I'm hoping to sort this one out myself - please help!

I acquired a 4' x 4' frame made of 1" square aluminum tubes and would like to mount it to a c-stand. I am aware of mounting methods involving clamps and gobo's, but how does a Flip Flop Ear (http://www.filmandvideolighting.com/1sqtuflfleam.html) interface with a stand for mounting??
