  1. CANON 11.5-138mm T/2.5 ZOOM CINEMA LENS SUPER 16 PL for sale ONE OF THE BEST SUPER16 ZOOM LENSES AROUND. SUPERB CONDITIONS. PERFECT GLASS. SMOOTH FOCUS. NEVER RENTED. Lens: 11.5-138 Canon T-Stop: 2.5 Mount: PL Min. Focus: 3ft. 6in. Weight (lbs): 3.75 Front Dia.: 95mm PL Mount. Perfect for Arri and Aaton super16 cameras and digital cinema cameras with sensor size up to Super16 .It works on RED cameras if these are used in 2K resolution (I personally shot a music video in this way and the images looked great). It should be perfect for the new Digital Super16 cameras like the Bolex D16 (http://www.digitalbolex.com/products/bolex-d16/) and the Ikonoskop A-Cam dll (http://www.ikonoskop.com/dii/) with PL adapters, since these have Super16-sized sensor. It should also work on the new Blackmagic Cinema Camera, according to an article on EOSHD.com, where they tested a very similar lens (Canon 8-64 PL) on that camera and it worked well. They only noticed a slight vignette at 8mm but this lens should not have that problem, as its minimum focal length is 11.5mm. See the article here (http://www.eoshd.com/content/9447/hurt-locker-lens-canon-8-64mm-t2-4-pl-zoom-perfect-companion-for-the-blackmagic-cinema-camera) Full details and more photos on BBlist: http://www.bblist.co.uk/item.php?item=34974 GBP 3,300. The lens is located in London - UK. Any inspection welcome. Collection in person is preferred, however I can ship it anywhere (shipping costs not included). 2. Hi. You're making a movie with a 60D (1080p FULL HD at 24p) and you want to blowup it to 35mm. What resolution would you use in FinalCut? Full HD (leaving all the hard and expensive work to the LAB)? 2k (resizing the 1080p FULL HD material to 2k size)? OR 4K (resizing the 1080p FULL HD material to 4k size)? Any additional tip will be much appreciated! MR
  3. I have a Canon 600D and an Arriflex-Angenieux type 10 x 25 T2 zoom lens that I would like to use it with. I am not sure what kind of mount the Arri lens is but I have attached images. Is there an adapter that would allow this lens to work with an APS-C camera? Many thanks for the info.

  8. https://vimeo.com/59642343 Used Equipment: Canon C100 Zeiss CP2 18mm/35mm/85mm “A human being is only breath and shadow.” – Sophocles This quote from Sophocles inspired me to shoot this short film. It was a really nice experience to work with Canon C100. I pushed the ISO up to 4000 because i wanted to see how much noise will be generated. Of course there is some grain in the picture but the low light ability of the Canon C100 is still amazing. Working with the Compact Prime Lenses was uncomplicated. The Magnifier Button, which operates also during recording is an amazing tool. The form factor of the C100 is very handy and you are able to make your shots in a quick and comfortable way.
  9. I am planning on shooting a short film with my T4i, planning on grading it black and white in post. I know that lighting for black and white is different than color and requires some more contrast (because color is no longer a factor). What do you think the best way to gauge what it will look like in black and white, short of metering and hoping?
  10. I saw this awesome video the other day by Garrett Shannon and I'm trying to figure out how he lit the interview/talking head portion. It's very clean and very soft, and I would like to figure out how to light something like that. If anybody has any idea please share it here! BTW you can watch the video online here: https://vimeo.com/51228350 Cheers, Mark

  13. HI all, I'm very new to Forums and hope I'm doing this right! :) I'm hoping to get into Cinematography after my University course has finished. Just thought I'd share my most resent piece of work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5lJ9C5XWqw Regards, Aaron Rogers
  14. I'll be using a strobe (flash) on an HD shoot. I've seen this in the past but it never seems to work well (strobe duration and shutter angle/shutter speed issues). Any ideas, tips or thoughts you can share with me?
  15. Good morning everyone J I am new to the idea of making a feature film and especially trying to make it look professional. I have played with video work and editing for many years but my photography skills in terms of manual use are at the moment beginner, I’ve been told to make a film by a uk film maker I know and really excited about the prospect of giving it a go. If it’s possible I would really love some guidance, I would like it to look as professional quality as possible but of course budget is really tight (same as everyone I would imagine!), I’m considering between the Panasonic HC-X900EB-K HD Camcorder or a Canon EOS 650D Budget is a big issue, and that is probably the best I can stretch as a I will have to get other accessories as well, I’m sticking to a mixture of Cinematic & found footage style mainly for the more forgiving nature of it, thought it was wise for a first attempt. Not being a pro the Panasonic seemed wise with the better auto modes if I found manual too hard to get it right, but my big concern is the 50p mode, I will be editing in Premiere / After Effects, with the final render going to Bluray & DVD, the primary format will probably NTSC ideally, but it will all be filmed on UK PAL equipment (I know, I know), the Panasonic doesn’t have a 24p native mode, the primary format will be NTSC for the reason if I manage to pull it off and its all watchable and ok my film maker friend has said he would distribute it (has a few independent film distribution companies) but of course this means a hell of a lot of video conversion going from the 50p format to NTSC DVD, after editing, I’m worried this will also effect the pacing of the final edit, I have never converted files that drastically before. The problem with the Canon is I feel while it has the 24p recording mode, I’m worried about the lack of stabilization with the idea of a newbie film maker and especially found footage style, and especially my lack in experience of manual use of cameras, I just keep going around and around in circles changing my mind constantly :/ I don’t want to make the process too complicated for a first time hence why the film itself will me very small production and if it makes a difference quite a lot of it will be night time footage. Sorry for the long rang, I would appreciate anyone else’s experienced input if I haven’t put you to sleep J what do you guys think ?.

  17. Hey Everyone, I was wondering if I could get some feedback on the lighting and camera movement in this short film I shot. I'm fairly young and new to the industry. I've learned through on set experience and from reading as well as watching films. I must say american cinematographer magazine has been one of the most helpful resources i've ever used. Anyways, back to the point here is the film. 95% of the shots are mine, except for a couple cut aways in the restaurant scene. Its online here: http://markaklassen....r-film-festival Thanks so much! i look forward to collaborating more with this community.

  20. I received a Canon Super 8mm camera for Christmas I have never shot on film before, so I cannot wait to start filming with Super 8mm. I also got Kodak Ekta 100D, I am aware it is not being produced any-more so I am fairly lucky to get my hands on a reel. Any tips to be given on shooting with super 8mm? I have always been a digital filmmaker I wrote a short overview of the camera and my first thoughts on my blog, which can be seen here.

  22. Canon 7D: $1000 I'm selling my Canon 7D Body package. It's in excellent condition with very few actuations. Very few scuffs on the base near the tripod hole, and a small (1/4") rip in the plastic on the top of the eyepiece cushion. Purely cosmetic and does not effect the function of the camera. Otherwise, it's in perfect condition (eyepiece clean, LCD clean and scratch/scuff-free, sensor is clean. It served as a backup to my 5d Mark II, and both were primarily used for video shooting. So, the shutter is very much still fresh! It comes with a Canon LP-E6 battery and a Canon LC-E6 charger and an 8GB Sandisk Extreme III CF card. Also included are the manuals, software, A/V cables, USB cable, and original packaging. PM or Email me with questions! I can also send detailed photos if you request them. I'll ship to anywhere, buyer pays shipping/insurance. It's located in Boston, if anyone wants a local pickup.
