  1. I have the old Sea Hunt series on DVD. (40 DVDs) It has been sitting round for about 15 years or more. I decided I better watch it before I kick off. I'm about 20% done with them. I asked Google about Bridges weight training routine for Sea Hunt. I was surprised to find out that Sea Hunt used prop tanks for some scenes. Last night they showed a diver carrying around a 3-tank rig like it was nothing. Now I know why. Google: Lloyd Bridges did not do specific weightlifting routines as a form of training for Sea Hunt, though he maintained a natural athletic build and swam constantly for the role. [1, 2, 3] Topside production details reveal an ironic twist regarding weight: when Bridges complained about the heavy twin metal air tanks during above-water retakes, the show's art director replaced them with lightweight props made of balsa wood painted silver. [1] The association between Lloyd Bridges and old-school fitness or lifting typically comes from his later guest role as the elderly, fitness-obsessed Izzy Mandelbaum on the television show Seinfeld, rather than his time playing underwater adventurer Mike Nelson in Sea Hunt.
