  1. One of the highest priced 8mm home movies ever sold on eBay. Even surpasses all the 16mm record home movies I've seen sell on eBay, which range in the $1400 - $1600 per 400 foot or less size reel. The seller has some of the best films on eBay. But most are unaffordable unless you got deep pockets. What is more amazing is this film is 8mm, which usually brings very little. 8mm is generally just too low quality to do much with, unless it is of the highest historical importance, and you have no other choice. <><><><> Daniel D. 2. 275 feet for $1600+! Anything vintage L.A. / Bevery Hills / CA related can go for big $$. Same with films of vintage Times Square showing the porn industry back in the day. (1970s) A film student died and left a small outtake 16mm reel of vintage Times Square and it went for about $1400. Apparently, L.A. had a Beverycrest sign in the hills, along with Hollywoodland sign, that was later shortened to Hollywood. L.A. used to have tons of storybook roofs, fairytale roofs, textured roofs, 3D roofs, Hansel & Gretel roofs around town. They had lots of names for them. This is not a great example of the textured roof design, but it reminded me of them. These are what the roofs looked like. This one just off of the Miracle Mile in 2012, near where I grew up. They usually were built up with asphalt shingles. This one was out of wood. I guess people will be going to metal roofs once CA can bans all fossil fuels. Only problem is metal roofs use a rubber membrane underneath...and it is made from crude oil as well! Photo: DDTJR Well, some rich person or institution picked it up. It could also have gone to a stock footage company that sell it to you by the second. Point is, you and me will probably never see much, if any of it. I've closed down my film Archive more or less. Not having any luck raising $ to buy a half-ass scanner, so no use adding more fuel to the fire. But if something comes up that is cheap and would make a good addition to the film Archive, I will try to pick it up. IIn the last year I've only bought a handful of films. I bid on this one, but $88.93 didn't go far in bidding. Most 16mm home movies can be bought for $15 - $35...unless the film nuts get a hard-on for it, like this one. This is the most expensive home movie I've ever seen on eBay. <><><><> Publicity photo Wolfman Jack ~ 'American Graffiti' 1973 DDTJRAC Wolfman Jack Archive.
  3. Look at this 16mm print of Taxi Driver that sold on eBay. With shipping and sales tax, it is about $420 for a faded red print. Film collectors would rather project a faded print than watch a restored version on Blu-ray or 4K. Now, I got lots of faded red films. But usually they cost $5 - $20. And the only reason I have them is there are no other options, and they are rare. But I'm talking about short subject films, not feature films that are available on disc. I'm thinking if this was a pristine, grade A color 16mm print it would be $2,000 - $2,500...but just guessing. Full rundown: https://archive.org/search?query=taxi+driver+teoli On the Blu-ray bonus features, Martin Scorsese talked about having to desaturate the blood at the end of Taxi Driver to avoid an X rating. He never did fix it and come out with an uncensored version. Maybe he is waiting until 50th anniversary in 2026. <><><><> Daniel D. Teoli Jr. Archival Collection Daniel D. 6. I had never heard of the magazine until I started on a project in 2021 to archive eBay's 'adult only' section, which they were shutting down on June 15, 2021. eBay routinely had about 800,000 listings in their adult only section. I was only able to review about 10% of them for the project. I didn't get much notice and I only had a few weeks to do the work; but eventually I was able to archive about 27,000 photos and screenshots for the eBay Adult Only project. A couple days before eBay was going to pull the plug to shut things down, I came across the Sex to Sexty magazines. I didn't have much time to screw around, but I could see it needed some archiving attention. So, I made a deal with a couple of sellers and picked up an instant mini-collection of 28 magazines for a few dollars per magazine. I just finished scanning the magazines, which totaled about 2000 scans. Very interesting going back to the late 60's and early 70's. Humor had no bounds back then. I am uploading them to the Internet Archive if they are of interest to you. <><><><> Press photo of Weegee being dropped out with white opaque. Internet photo: Fair Use
  7. Here is the old 1942 16mm Kodachrome home movie I just scanned... https://archive.org/search.php?query=Sooner+or+Later+Y'all+End+Up+on+eBay The title came from a discussion they were having on a film collectors forum. One guy didn't like eBay, he wanted to buy film from yard sales. He was complaining he could find projectors, but he could not find any old films. I told him he has to suck it up and go to eBay. The pickers descend on estate sales at the crack of dawn, they gobble up old photos and any films and boom...Sooner or Later Y'all End Up on eBay! The scan is also an example of what the Retroscan can do. It is pretty much a raw scan. No image stabilization. Just slight color grading as Movavi software is not the best for color grading.

  9. https://www.ebay.com/itm/293086201571 It comes with Pelican Case, Articulating arm, Battery, adapter, and even a 256GB SSD! I have tested everything before posting the auction and everything works flawlessly. Minor cosmetic wear on the magnetic screen hood, but it still works perfectly.
  10. What do you think of this? Euro 800 for a worn lens, clearly poorly worked on, disassembled from a camera and LCU which usually sells far lower. Then claiming to not know what format it is suitable for. It is playing at hastily buyers or such. https://www.ebay.com/itm/ANGENIEUX-6-90-6-90mm-f-1-2-13-x6B-w-C-Mount-GH4-BlackMagic-BMPCC-GH5-BMCC/371977733718?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D47300%26meid%3Dc44a680b454f4df89f73b936a9221e53%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D371977715859&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

  15. It's official. I am moving out of the country. This has long been a dream of mine and now it is a reality. But I cannot shoot Super8 where I am going so I am selling my Canon 1014 XL-S plus all accessories. As some of you may know, my Canon was serviced by Willard Engineering last year. I went through hell getting it back from him (long story, no need to re-hash) and thank the maker he did his job well because I did shoot film with it, have it developed and recently projected it. Everything was 100%. My big fear was that he might screw up the light meter, but everything was spot on. I have attached a picture of what is being sold. It's the entire kit. Camera, 85 filter & polarizer, original box and manual, lens hood, microphone, ear piece, etc. AND both the Wide Angle and Telephoto lenses. MINT. And I do mean mint. I'll even throw in two rolls of Tri-X that have been in the freezer (I have a lot of film I can sell too) I also have a stunning Pelican Case with foam I custom cut for the camera and accessories. I'll sell that if you are also interested. The Camera is on eBay, but I am perfectly willing to bypass them and save us both some cash since their fees are pretty much outrageous. Please understand, this is a sad day for me. I had made the decision to keep the camera and keep shooting, but the opportunity to move overseas is too much to pass up. There will be no conceivable way of buying or processing film where I am going, so I really can't hold on any longer. Thanks to everyone here who helped me learn the ropes years ago. This forum was my teacher. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Canon-1014-XL-S-Super-8mm-Film-Camera-SERVICED-MINT-Wide-Angle-Lens-Box-amp-More-/291423303073?
  16. Hello all, I have recently bought an Angenieux 12-120mm type 10x12 B lens for the Blackmagic Pocket Camera. Upon buying this lens, I believed it to be a C mount; to my surprise, it is not. Could someone help me identify what type of mount this lens has exactly? Thanks, John W. King
  17. Hey everyone. I'm selling an Arriflex 400' mag for PARTS or REPAIR. Please check the ebay link below for details. Starting bid is $0.99 USD. 18. I've been watching an ARRI 2C on ebay. Looks nice, but the seller has a Cine 60 "battery pack" attached to the base of the camera which the constant speed motor/handgrip is also sitting on. I contacted the seller and was told that it's a battery pack, but it looks more like a charger to me. But doesn't the motor need to be connected to a power cable during operation, in any case? So what is the purpose of this other than making the camera bulkier? I'm probably missing something very obvious. Hopefully, someone can enlighten me. Here are two photos:

  22. ARGH!!! :o Well, my colleague Andy only paid £109 GB Pounds plus shipping via eBay for a cosmetically fine Beaulieu 4008 ZM II but I also purchased a new cell, a grip/handle and charger at over £100 GBP. After shooting two test carts without any problems (other than feeling a little odd to hold it) the whole camera now seems to have seized up and yet it was sold as tested and fully functional. By all accounts, I'm looking at somewhere between £200 to £300 for a service/repair plus the shipping/customs charges on top of that. So I've asked the seller to kindly refund £50 (and I'll keep the two Tri-X carts that came with it) and then the Beaulieu can sit on the shelf as an expensive paperweight for now. I really do hope that the seller accepts this? I fully appreciate it was cheap to start with but I will push for a possible return and a full refund otherwise. As it's all so disappointing and I've already given Andy back his £123.45 in full. Am I being fair on the seller and will it even be worth even trying to get this Beaulieu fixed later on? Bill

  24. Gents (and ladies), My brother in-law over in Vietnam is foaming at the mouth over this package... http://www.ebay.com/...984.m1438.l2649 The basics of the package: Canon EOS 60D +6 Lens Pro Kit: 18-55 IS, 55-250 IS, 50mm, 500mm Preset telephoto, 58mm Wide Angle + lots of bundled stuff. Now they claim a USA warranty. They claim no grey market. Their feedback is quite good (nearing 38,000 at this point and 99.7% +). My bro has exactly $1300 to spend, so this fits right in there. In Vietnam, Canon will only service Canons purchased in Vietnam. But those cameras have a huge tax that makes them double priced. Hence the need for a foreign purchase, which I will hand deliver in January when I visit. I have not found any bundles that are anywhere near this and would appreciate it if anyone who knows of trustworthy stores with bundles can let me in on those places. I'm in no way a DSLR expert. I have T3i with kit lens purchased from New Egg that I barely use (and I may sell it in Vietnam). Thanks to all for your help. Oh and if your opinion is, just go ahead and pull the trigger, say so. I have the money. And I certainly can test everything out when it gets here.
