  1. Does anybody happen to know where I might be able to find a working 400' magazine for an Eclair ACL II? I haven't been able to really find any on ebay recently. Thanks!
  2. Hi peeps, I just posted this lens on eBay, so if you are looking for a C-mount lens that will cover the S16 frame here is one. I only ship to the lower 48 United States. https://www.ebay.com/itm/153231296621 Thanks for looking
  3. My first test with a 3 perf cameflex was perfect except for the gate flare present in the negative. Just want to confirm this is the case... however the triangle flare isn't vertically/horizontally flipped as the rest of the image. Looks like it's flaring/bleeding into the next frame. As far as solutions...paint the mask? Both sides? Which paint do you recommend? Attached below are the stills, and of the gate, with and without the shutter. Many thanks!
  4. I'm ready to do some tests with my Eclair NPR camera and I have some questions after practicing loading the magazines... Obviously I'm missing something simple and I've spent some time searching yet haven't found the answers so please forgive the basic questions: 1) Can someone explain the importance of the "loop"? It's very specific about 12 images with 6 on each side. I don't think the manual I have explains why this is important and what will happen if the frame count of the loop is incorrect or if it's out of alignment. Will it effect the image? Will there be flickering? 2) Assuming the loop is important, why is it necessary to then press the film into the magazine? (thus reducing the loop, I count 8 frames after my loop is pressed in). The videos I've seen go to some length to detail exactly how the loop is formed... only to quickly say "and then when you're done you press it in and load it onto the camera..." Again please forgive my ignorance and thanks for your patience -B
  5. I'm looking for a power source for my Eclair NPR 16mm camera and I think I'm starting to get a rough idea of what to look for (still open to suggestions tho) but one key question: does a higher frame rate require more volts? The manuals I've seen online suggest a 12 volt, 3-5 Amh battery to power the Perfectone motor but I've seen discussions about the motor stopping as soon as the FPS rate goes up. Someone who appeared more knowledgeable than myself said the higher frame rate would require higher voltage. Possibly up to 15 volts. However I've also read discussions where people warn against using a battery or power source that is rated higher than the suggested voltage for the motor. Any thoughts or experiences with this subject? Thanks
  6. Hi there, Finally I have had my ACL serviced by the best, Mr Bernie O'Doherty, and finally I can use it to shoot something serious. But to be serious, you need to have the complete set. And right now I am look for some accessories for the camera. First off is the top handle. I do know that Les Bosher sells one, but me and him do not seem eye to eye, so that is not an option. Second I am looking for is a new rubber cup for my viewfinder, the one I had just broke and I need something to replace it. if you know of any other accessories that might be necessary and you want to off-load, please reach out //C
  7. Hi everyone, thanks for having me. I'm new to cinematography, being a still photog for about 20 years now. I have a tight budget to shoot 16mm and bought an Eclair ACL II kit for 500€, including Angenieux zoom, 2 400ft mags, kinoptic viewfinder, case, battery. The camera has hardly ever been used. It seems to run OK for now, i've not used it yet really. My intention is really to use the camera on the shoulder most of the time, so I was kind of surprised when trying it. I have a MIMUL motor, which is actually large and seems to take the place of the shoulder between the body and the mag. Am I doing something wrong ? or is there really no good way to shoulder an ACL II & MIMUL combination ? If not, is it possible to replace the motor for the standard one ? It might be getting me on another problem as I'd like to shoot long takes, so I'd be happy to keep the sturdier motor to use the 400ft mags... but just to know theoretically, can I remove the MIMUL ? it doesn't look like it. thanks for your help !
  8. Hello everyone, I'm looking for this part (see on foto) or whole viewfinder, and looking for the motor, and video-assistant, and new obturator for these cam. I can trade some of these positions on lomo lenses. Regards, Vitaly.
  9. Eclair Cameflex CM3 35mm 2-perf techniscope camera for sale. I'm asking 2400USD for it. This camera is one rare 2-perf techniscope modified CM3 with PL mount. For those not aware of 2-perf, it basically is a modification which allows you to shoot Cinemascope directly on the neg reducing the stock cost to about 50%. I bought the camera from Film-camera-kit UK in 2011, and have never used it. I bought it from them in good working condition and maintained. I have only unpacked the camera and since then it has been stored, since I did not have time for my original intention of shooting shorts with it. Now I figure it's better to sell this beauty to someone who will have more time for it. Included: Tobin crystal sync motor Tobin Time Lapse motor (Originally for Bolex, but works with CM3) 2 400ft mags 2 200ft mags 2 100ft mags 15mm rods Batteries not included. Can ship it anywhere for additional cost. Not sure about the shipping fee's. But will check it out for the buyer location if interested. Item located in Sweden Mail me at erik@luminante.com if interested. Best Regards, Erik
  10. Hello, for my extra low budget short project I'm searching one of these cameras. Our budget is very very low, we are from Lithuania, so please, if you have any working, but not perfect cameras - write to me. Thank you very much nojusdra@gmail.com
  11. Hello, I'm looking for a few Eclair ACL bits & pieces and wondered if anyone has any that may be surplus to requirement and are looking to sell. I'm after a... ACL 200ft magazine (or 2) Heavy duty motor Orientable viewfinder (with mount) If any one can help, that would be great. Thanks, Mark
  12. Looking for a PL-mount to Eclair TS (ACL) adapter. Make an offer :)
  13. Hello, I'm in the market for a super-16 camera with video assist/tap, 400ft mags, crystal sync at 24/25. Got my eye out for an Arri SR2, SR3, or an Aaton, although a reliable Eclair NPR could do the trick. A camera in Europe is preferable as import duty costs a fortune. Looking to spend £1000 - £2000 ($1650 - $3300) depending on the model and condition. Thanks, Greg
  14. I recently purchased an Eclair NPR with Perfectone motor from some one who doesn't know much about it. While practicing to adjust the shutter with some stripped clear film leaded in the mag, I noticed that the film gate covers the film aspect and one perforation side. Does this mean that the camera has been modified to super 16?
  15. I'm missing one of the two plates needed in order to use film on a core in the 400 ft magazine. Happen to have an extra one laying around?
