Hi everyone. I'm very interested in being able to breakdown lighting ratios from inspiration using the same set of standards that I use when shooting (mapped IRE false color values on a production monitor). However, I'm having a bit of trouble grasping the best way to accomplish this. It's clear to me that images read best on camera between 2 stops over/under key. I'm shooting in slog3 on FS7, but monitoring in rec709 LUT on my monitor. I've brought up a chart from the app "LutCalc" that displays relative IRE/stop values for a certain monitor LUT- in this case going from slog3->rec709(800%). (Attached) So from what I understand here are the following values for +- 3 stops from key. -3 = 14% -2 = 20% -1 = 30% 0 = 44% +1 = 63% +2 = 84% +3 = 97% Does this mean that if I assign each relative stop to the corresponding IRE value in False Color using the same monitor I shoot with that I will be able to accurately breakdown lighting ratios and seamlessly recreate said ratios on set by matching colors?

I have an issue with the EXPOSURE CONTROL (false color) assigned to the EXP-Button on the EVF. When I try to toggle the function on and off, the camera only switches the false color image between the viewfinder or the built in monitor on the EVF. So I can actually not turn it completely off. Idk if I am just stupid and couldn't figure it out, I tried to turn all user-buttons off and re-assign them, and re-assign the EXP-button to Zebra and rebooting the camera.. Nothing worked. Has anyone had this problem and know how to solve it? I'm gonna ask the rental house to re-install the software tomorrow morning though. But I'm worried that its not gonna work, bc they have the latest update installed.. Would be wonderful to hear your thoughts about this!! // Jonas EDIT: Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum, I signed up just now and saw there is an "ARRI"-subforum..

Hi Guys, I've got my first shoot on the Alexa coming up next week, and as circumstances prevent me from being able to run exposure tests on the camera beforehand, I was wondering about using the camera's false colour feature. We'll be shooting in LogC No-Matrix, and I'm wondering what colour I'd want to see on caucasian skin? Is it pink for properly-exposed Caucasian skin? Or is pink just for the highlights on caucasian skin? Cheers, Mark
