  1. I just found the photos yesterday of my old grow rack… About 15 - 16 years ago I made a cheap microgreen growing rack. It was basically a 6-foot-tall chrome wire shelf unit and 2 fluorescent fixtures per shelf. I used it for a few years then gave it up. I used it for microgreens, lettuce, sprouting plants for my garden, sunflower sprouts for eating and for wheat grass. The grow racks they sell are crazy $$. I researched what is the best K temp to use at the time. I would run it from 5 AM to 1 AM. Since I had regular bulbs instead of grow lights, I gave the plants more light exposure. I just put it on a timer and didn’t worry about it. grow rack for microgreens 2008- 2009 (1)1536×2048 720 KB I had the lights on chains and hooks. I could raise or lower the lights. I used 4 plastic trays per shelf. grow rack for microgreens 2008- 2009 (2)1536×2048 715 KB I had some gnat issues, so started to use fly tape. 101_4371900×1200 233 KB grow rack for microgreens 2008- 2009 (4)1536×2048 841 KB grow rack for microgreens 2008- 2009 (3)1920×1440 534 KB indoor sprouts 2008-2009 (6)1200×900 267 KB I tried eating pea greens but didn’t like them. grow rack for microgreens 2008- 2009 (6)1920×1440 645 KB The stand cost about $89 at Sams. I used garden dirt for most of the trays. I eventually sold the grow stand for about what it cost to build to a Hare Krishna family. If I had the room, I probably would have kept it in storage. But nowadays, space = $$, and no room for it all.
  2. I'm not much for gardening or lawns. Even so, I need to water a few things once in a while. Here is a design for a quick connect, bomb proof watering nozzle I designed years ago and just rebuilt. Old one. I used for 17 years. Used to throw it around and drag with the hose wind up. Aluminum disc would corrode / spray pattern went to hell. DSC042201920×1280 117 KB DSC042211920×1280 172 KB Rebuilt. Bought this. It has a stainless disc that hopefully holds up along with less abuse. I only used the head. Screenshot 09-15-2025 19.02.401335×941 175 KB I changed the on / off valve. It got old and was very hard to turn. Green plastic is 17 years old. I got the center tube off of a roll of grocery bags, split it and put on the brass pipe. Or the brass pipe gets pretty cold in hands. DSC042121920×1280 209 KB DSC042141824×2736 1.03 MB It came with a wand, but I didn’t use it for now. Wand is thin metal. DSC042261920×1280 198 KB I rebuilt this as well but kept the smaller valve style. DSC042321920×1280 154 KB DSC042401920×1280 230 KB Quick connect fittings with O-ring seems to dribble less at the connection points. Use O-ring grease for easy on / off. But this is all speculative. I just started to use them yesterday. For 17 years used the ones on the right. Lots of dribbling! …careful with Lowes quick connect fittings. They are not brass and corrode fast. They are gold colored lightweight metal. <><><><> Daniel D. Teoli Jr. Archival Collection Daniel D. Teoli Jr. Small Gauge Film Archive Daniel D. Teoli Jr. Advertising Archive Daniel D.
