  1. I had bought a couple of these books from Japan on eBay. They look like they are a book of odd or funny photos they find on the internet or somewhere else. Are they common / popular in Japan? Is there a name for this book or genre of books? What can you tell me about them? They are about 5 x 7 inches and +/- 250 pages. Some of the photos are (R) sex oriented, others are not. I will eventually upload to the I.A. in higher res. There are girly ads in the beginning and at the end of the book, but the rest of the book are all photos. The first photo, which is the cover, is a good representation of the photo mix in the book. Getting back to the girly ads...what are they about? Thanks!
  2. Scanned photos on Thanksgiving. Just finished up subway sounds last night. 'Crowded Train' is a rare study in infrared flash by Ikko Kagari on the practice of 'chikan' (groping women on the train or subway) in Japan. I think it is from the 1980's but not sure. And maybe book title is wrong. Very underground and not easy to find the right info as it varies from source to source. Any Japanese here? What is the present day views of chikan? It looked like the gals were willing participates back in the day. Or were they just too shy to put up a ruckus? Araki made a little book on sex shops of Japan. Vintage stuff. They had a nightclub for practicing chikan in a fake subway car.
  3. https://vimeo.com/327032597 We are documenting events here in Japan prior to the 2020 games for practice. Thank you for all your input. We filmed Tokyo Marathon, I love Ireland Parade, Holi 2019, and most recent a Go Ruck event. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, LODI Team Japan
  4. Collection of Japanese Collotypes from the Meiji period It is interesting to note that in Japan the job of massage was traditionally given to blind people. See 'Amma' yawning shampoorer https://japancustomscostumes.wordpress.com/2018/11/04/collection-of-japanese-collotypes/
  5. I'm a DoP based in Beijing, China. Big film industry here too :p
  6. Hi all! I have been following this community for a few months now, and this is my first post. I was recently the DP for a video we submitted for Sharp's Art of Amazing 4K contest. The film has been selected as a finalist in the contest, and will be screening at the Mill Valley Film festival on October 9th. This was my first time using the RED Epic--although I am familiar with the Scarlet--and the ARRI Ultra Prime lenses. It was also my first time to use the DJI Ronin, and I have to say, it was a lot of fun! I'd love to know what you think and any constructive criticism, if you are so inclined. Thanks in advance for the feedback!
