  1. Hello Everyone, I'm back from South America and need to sell my Arriflex 16SR camera with the Arri Talbot sound blimp by December 20th. Shipping is FREE. I can only ship to the lower 48 states. Shipping will be done via Amtrak (so you must be close to an Amtrak station or willing to travel to the closest one). Amtrak is a great, safe way to ship heavy items. You can pay by credit card or Paypal through Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/195118392/arriflex-16mm-film-camera-arri-sound Please feel free to ask me if you have any questions about any of these items and I will answer as best I can. There are no shipping costs for local pickup in Valrico, Florida. Arriflex 16SR + Accessories It works fine and it works great with the blimp below. I bought this used from a dealer. The viewfinder is clear with no yellowing. The camera runs smoothly. 1 - Arriflex 16SR 16mm motion picture camera 1 - Eyepiece with eye cup 2 - 400' cartridges 1 - Battery Adapter 1 - Power cable 1 - Power adapter for plugging the camera into an outlet, NO LENSES ARE INCLUDED. ARRI BAYONET MOUNT. THIS IS NOT A SUPER 16 CAMERA. Arri Talbot SR Sound Blimp 1 - Arri Talbot SR Sound Blimp with connector cables inside I'm selling a very unique Arri Talbot Sound Blimp for the Arriflex 16SR camera. It reduces the noise level to absolute ZERO! When the camera is inside, you plug in the wires and you are able to completely control the camera from the buttons on the outside of the blimp. The blimp also has rails on the front. I've never seen one of these anywhere else. It's extremely heavy so you'll have to use it on a heavy duty tripod. These two items are being sold together. You can view and buy on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/195118392/arriflex-16mm-film-camera-arri-sound

  4. In the middle of Feb. I will be DP'ing my first feature film. I will be providing my personally owned lighting and grip equipment as well as a RED Dragon cam. I will be lighting the scenes, camera operating, and providing directorial advice to the director. Shooting is scheduled for 3-4 weeks. There is a budget for me to be paid an (ok) rate in installments over the course of those 3-4 weeks. The film will be submitted to bigger studios/reps/investors for consideration of being picked up or bought and being produced on a bigger scale with bigger budgets. In the event that our version does actually get picked up, I assume the the producer/production team is compensated for it correct? How exactly does it work? Is it one payment or is it like royalties? I'm currently typing up a contract that is due in 24 hours to define the terms of work and payments for the project and I want to make sure that if there is backend compensation from getting picked up, that I get covered and receive a piece of that compensation. How should I word this in the contract? Any advice would be greatly appreciated?

  6. Hello all, For a class project we were assigned to make a music video. This is what I made, a fan production of the song "Baby Came Home 2" by The Neighbourhood. I would appreciate any and all feedback! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNdpX2hPpyQ
  7. Hey, My name's Francesco, I'm an artist and music composer currently working in London. I've been reading this forum for a year now, always been a fan of cinematography and lightning even if I work in a totally different branch in the film industry. I have a window of time this February and March and since I'm looking to expand my IMDB credits, I'd like to do a small pro bono work in exchange of a music composer credit. So if you're a director and your short movie is now in the editing process, consider taking five minutes and listen to some of my tracks to see if my style suits your work. http://bit.ly/147mjKT You can send a private streaming link and contact me here: info [at] francescoberta.com Many thanks Francesco Berta http://francescoberta.com
  8. Hello all, As a little kid, I used to always shoot and develop my own movies on Super-8mm cameras. In the past few years, however, I've moved toward the digital age using Panasonics and DSLRs. I want to go back to using film, however I want to get higher quality than Super 8 - is 16mm a good choice for a young filmmaker? And if so, what cameras are best? My price range is anywhere below $1000 (or a little above). Thanks!

  10. I have a cousin who's currently working to produce a programme (pitch an idea for them), that would be play on tv. but they (tv station) wanted to discuss the salary when he comes up with an idea they want to make. basically they want to collaborate with him. so his question is: 1) How much should he get paid if he works as a (writer/director/cinematographer), as the tv station want to discuss that with him. how much is the usual pay for ppl in that position? btw, he has graduated from university (he's experienced in making film etc, few of his films had gotten into festivals as well) 2) Do he need to sign a contract with the station for his idea? (e.g. if he wants to also put the show on his youtube account to help show his works) 3) and how to protect his idea so the tv station won't steal it from him, as he seems worried about that.
  11. Hi! Met Film School in London has got these two weekend-courses that I would love to recommend (filmmaking). The school is located ten minutes walking distance from the station: Ealing Broadway. The famous studio "Ealing studios" is right next to the school. Maybe you can meet up with Daniel Radcliffe after school? Never done anything with filmmaking before? Then you should apply for the course: DSLR for professional filmmaking. It is a weekend course that is designed for those with a working understanding of the principals of cinematography or stills photography that want to apply this knowledge specifically to shooting with digital SLR cameras. You will learn how to get the best from a DSLR camera and how to make use of a selection of accessories specifically designed for video shootings on stills cameras. Through a range of creative exercises you will discover the pros and cons of working with these systems and how to avoid some of the most common pitfalls. Done some filmmaking before? Do you want something more advanced? You should apply for our course: Advanced DSLR for professional filmmaking. This course is designed for students who have previously completed the DSLR for professional filmmaking course, or those with an extensive DSLR and/or cinematography background. This programme covers areas from focus and operating, to sound sync and postproduction workflows. The aim of this programme is to provide you with the fundamental knowledge to shoot and finish DSLR video footage to its highest standard. Apply now on their website: http://www.metfilmschool.co.uk/
  12. Good evenining to everyone, i'm writing this topic because I need help with a project for university. First of all, sorry if this is not the right place to ask for help! Here's the exercise: We have to create a movie, within various movies. We need to choose around 10 films and make them work together, through cutting, creating a whole new narrative. It's not a "mashup" or "remix" movie, it's a movie created by various movies where they combine together in order to get a new narrative and make sense through the rules of classic cinema cutting I tried to search Youtube and Vimeo for examples but all I can find is "mashups" within the best movies of this year or previous ones.. I'm sorry, English is not my native language, but I think I expressed myself correctly! Thank you all, I hope somebody replies me!

  15. Hey there, I'm new here and I'd like to start asking a question about sound. Last year I shot a movie with a friend of mine, using as record devices a condenser microphone, linked to a sound card, which was linked to the laptop. Now, I brought my sound card home with me, but now it seems I can't find it anymore... Looks like I'll have to buy another one, but since I'm not an expert in this field, I can't really remember which are the features of the sound card I used last time, nor the brand... can someone tell me which are the basic features one should require from a sound card of this kind? It is a really important matter to me, thanks to all of you. P.S. if this can help, I was using cubase as recording program.
