  1. LOS ANGELES, (June 18, 2020) – Sohonet, the global experts in connectivity, media services and network security for the media and entertainment industry, announced their partnership with Moxion and its revolutionary platform for HDR Immediates and Cuts. The partnership broadens the range of remote collaboration solutions Sohonet can now offer the production, post and visual effects communities. The partnership will provide the production, post and visual effects communities with a distinct set of tools designed to enable both synchronous and asynchronous remote review to suit every use case. For review discussions that depend on real-time iteration and response, Sohonet ClearView Flex provides teams with a high-quality, secure solution. Moxion Immediates provides an equivalent experience for offline review. “Moxion is a great match for Sohonet, they understand the unique challenges that productions face, and share our vision: to revolutionise the way storytellers create content by making collaboration seamless and more secure,” says Sohonet CEO Chuck Parker. “While real-time review is a key component to the production workflow, often the whole team can’t meet for a live review session. Partnering with Moxion gives our customers space to review content in their own time.” Moxion’s Immediates offers a platform to review footage in HDR minutes after filming on the same devices as ClearView Flex (Apple TV, iPads, laptop). On-set creatives can start on mark-ups immediately and give off-set creatives the same near-real-time HDR access to the content. Additionally, editorial and VFX teams can download the high-resolution proxy to begin adding their magic rather than having to wait for it to arrive hours later after a transcoded dailies workflow. “Offering Sohonet’s real-time tool, Clearview Flex, with our offline review technology makes perfect sense,” says Hugh Calveley, CEO of Moxion. “The ability to harness the power of live review and incorporate it, with the convenience of offline collaboration, will be an extremely valuable toolkit for filmmakers.” “Right now productions are having to navigate a new normal due to COVID-19, with reduced numbers on-set, additional location challenges and more distributed team members. Sohonet and Moxion are perfectly placed to help support them from green-light to wrap,” added Parker.
  2. Hi all... Setting up a new remote head for rental, and was fully intending on purchasing Transvideos 15 cinemonitor HD as part of the package. And then an operator friend of mine mentioned when he is on the wheels he prefers a smaller size monitor to operate from, which I hadnt thought about before. But it makes sense... So the question is, for all you experienced remote head operators out there, which size monitor do you prefer when youre on a remote? Thanks in advance for your thoughtful replys...

  4. Hi Everyone! I am selling my Preston FIZ3 3 channel remote focus kit. I have owned this for the past couple of years. And it has always been used only by myself, It has never been dry hired. It has worked flawlessly through that time and I have never had an issue with this reliable kit. I purchased this as a Preston FIZ II Kit, but upgraded it to the FIZ3 handset and also sent the MDR back to PCS to get the Blue dot G4 upgrade and also to be serviced. (I can provide the receipt if needed) The Handset is 1 1/2 years old and also the Heden M21VE-L motor is only 2 years old as well. All the other equipment is a bit older but still works perfectly, as I have always taken great care of this kit. Im Looking for $17,000 USD but I am also open to reasonable offers. In the Kit for sale Handset 1x FI+Z 3 Handset (#2803) 5x Premarked Disks (A,B,C,D,E in Imperial) 6x Blank Disks Microforce Digital 2 1x Microforce Digital 2 (serial #D25274) 1x Handset to MF Bracket Motors 1x Preston DM1 (#1791) 1x Preston DM2 (#2483) 1x Heden M21VE-L (#M21VE-3849) 5x Heden Gears 0.4,0.5,0.6,0.8,0.8 wide 7x Preston Gears 1x0.4 2x0.5 2x0.6 2x0.8 Misc screws for gears etc MDR 1x MDR-2 G4 Bluedot with 4pin serial port (#1192) 1x MDR-2 Cheese plate (Kar Wai Ng) Cables 4x Motor Cables (3x R/A to R/A 1x R/A to Straight) 1x Cinetape Interface Cable 2x Microforce to Handset Cables 1x D-Tap Power 2x R/S 3pin Power cables 3x R/S 3pin Camera Run Cables 1x Moviecam Camera Run Cable 1x Panavision Camera Run Cable 1x Serial to USB cable Brackets 2x 19mm Hill Brackets 2x 15mm Hill Brackets 2x 5/8' Hill Brackets 4x Hill D-clamp Bracket slider 4x Hill/Preston motor Rosetts 2x 15mm/19mm Colett 3x 5/8"/19mm Colett 2x 15mm/19mm Preston Dogbones Batteries 5x Sony NP-50 Batteries 1x Watson Two Bay Charger 1x Single Bay Charger Case 1x Nanuk 945 Black Hardcase Fstop 1x PLC fstop wireless WIFI 1x D-tap Power Cable 1x Panavision Power Cable Im also throwing in the F-stop wireless iris as well as I have not used it and it came with the original kit. 8. This is a transmitter and receiver that was designed to make the hard wired iris control from Preston into a wireless system. The unit for sale includes the (hard wired) iris control hand unit from Preston, the cradle that connects the iris control to the transmitter and battery, the receiver, and a Heden M26VE motor. Sale also includes (motor and power) cables, battery for the transmitter, and a battery charger. (additional blank iris disk included) This unit (receiver) is wired the same as the Preston and so will drive a Preston motor with the standard Preston cable. I used this system with a Preston 3 motor system. The focus and zoom were plugged into the standard MDR and the Iris was plugged into the small receiver. The design of the cradle allows the hand unit to sit upright without additional brackets. This unit can be used to drive any of the gears of the lens - so it could also be used as a remote focus device. ****Update**** Some people have asked if I would sell it without the motor. Yes - willing to sell without the motor. PM me if you are interested.
  9. Made me giggle, anyways. Move over Bartek!

  14. Has anybody got any experience with this new fiz unit? http://www.rtmotion.com/ I've got a 3D show coming up and they want to use this in a dual receiver configuration. Im used to the Preston 3 and Im uncertain of its reliability. But I noticed the receiver is only 90 grams! and the price tag for a 3 motor setup is only 10k! that seems insane to me. Anyway, if it works out I would seriously consider purchasing one. thanks
