  1. I'm wondering how long the landlords can prop things up. And then there is all the months in arrears to make up. Pretty much everyone I've worked with is shut down or if reopening on a small scale is not in a good mood.
  2. Hey all! Looking to buy (or rent!) a split field diopter (ideally 138mm, but willing to look at any that would work with zeiss super speed set so anything that would cover 80mm works)! Located in the Chicagoland area, so if anyone has any leads on local rental houses that would have this item by February 14th, that'd be awesome! Thanks!
  3. So I am trying to look into Renting equipment for 14 Days for an Indie Film. The issue is we only have about 6K to spend for a FULL Camera Kit and Lenses. Mind you I have a good tripod, but obviously need all the working parts. Im really contemplating a Canon C300 MKII for 4K C-Log, with either a Zeiss CP2 Kit (which is much cheaper, under budget it seems) or a Set of Cooke S4 Primes which puts us right on target, maybe a hair expensive. I'm a stickler for quality and this film is really in need of that "David Fincher" Style usually locked off on a tripod, so no need for handheld rigs, but needs to have a very "anamorphic" look and almost like 35mm Film Stock! Im not a Cinematography Pro, I just really need something that does well in low light, doesnt need to be like an A7s, but that NAILS Color and the overall feel of things. Hope someone has some ideas! Thanks!

  5. Hey everybody, at the end of november my colleague and I will travel to CapeTown in South Africa to do some fashionshoots. We'll need to rent a Jib for our BlackMagic Production Camera. Does anybody know a good rentalcompany in CapeTown? Thanks Benny

  7. I'm the DP on a very low budget, extremely small crew, black-and-white feature film. I have a $3000 budget and a 3-week-long shoot. I'm looking for advice and recommendations on what equipment to rent/buy. For the majority of the production, I'll be the only person doing set-ups and operating the camera. I'll be attempting to use as much practical and natural lighting as possible. For the duration of the first half of the movie there will be little to no camera movement; mostly locked down on a tripod. But then the second half will be mostly handheld. I want to use a camera that's easy for one person to operate and performs well in low light situations. Once again, I have a budget of $3000 and plan on renting most of what I need. The following are some ideas of what I’m thinking of renting: Canon C100 Zacuto shoulder mount rig for C100 Rokinon prime lens set (14mm, 24mm, 35mm, 85mm)
  8. Hi Everyone, I am curious, for those of you who have invested in your own equipment, would you be interested in becoming a member of an online community where you can rent it out to other people through a web-based service. The website would include the facilitation of insurance on your item, and membership accountability and vetting. An example, but in another industry, is the website www.fun2rent.com. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you, Chelsey
  9. Hello all, I'm looking to strike a deal with someone on a long term rental on some equipment. The exact dates are still up in the air, but I'd need the gear for essentially the month of July 2013. (tentatively July 1st through the 22nd). If you are in NYC, that's ideal, if elsewhere we can pay to ship it depending on how much you are willing to rent it for. I'm looking for: A Sachtler 30 Tripod System: http://www.adorama.c....FUWo4AodpxMAqg A Fujinon HA42x9.7BERD Lens: http://www.fujifilmu...d-sd/hdtv-le... If you have the gear and are interested in renting it out (or know someone who is) post the best way to contact you (or just PM me). Thanks! Dan
