  1. Hi guys, I want to share with you my last documentary short, shot on tri-x super 8. MINUTERA Minutera is a reflection about photography, about what we lost. vimeo.com/k3films/minutera Enjoy!
  2. My name is Max Normandin, and I've ALWAYS wanted to become a filmmaker. The problem is, I suffer from panick attacks and a pretty severe case of social phobia. I don't get out of my house often, and I certainly don't surround myself with people. Which makes it pretty darn hard to make movies... This is the story of how I went ahead a shot a 25min short film all by myself, with no crew, using family members as actors. I don't know if this is unusual or not, but I think the quality of the final product, given the very limited ressources I had, might be uncommon.
  3. I've been working on some experimental projection of my artwork and made this short as a proof of concept mostly for me. I plan on incorporating more story soon. Using the 5D Mark III with ML Raw has been key. The low light capabilities really help me get the results I want.
  4. Hello cinematographers, I'm looking around for creative projects or competitions to do on the weekend. The vimeo weekend challenge is a great exercise but I'm looking for something with more direction and maybe a prize pool. Post your suggestions or any competitions you know of.
  5. Hi, here are some of my shorts. This one was just me testing the Canon 550D, but I think that it turned out OK considering it was a test and my 2nd short: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WG1L6CmeSAE This one was an assignment for a workshop I attended (my 4th short): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYpSasiC474 This one is just the first scene of a longer movie that will never reach the internet (this is my favorite one): And finally another one on which I did half of the camera work and I also edited, did coloring and VFX on it: http://vimeo.com/74527145 I'd like to hear your oppinion on these shorts, if you have any tips feel free to post them. :)
  6. Link: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/deep-sleep-short-film/x/268202 Deep Sleep is a short film about a self-loathing teen, Derek Harper, who's sick of his severe idiopathic hypersomnia (sleep addiction). He lives in a generic apartment, and works at a late-night cafe for free coffee to keep his life somewhat moving. His one and only friend Hay Tyler, helps him find the answers to his condition. You're important because you guys are the most vital part of the film. You determine whether this film will be good or bad. Your funding determines how much creative freedom we have, and how close we can tell this story to its envisioning. You are even more important because you're the key to the film's success. Not only will you help me make a beautiful film, you will get me further to my dream. Why Is It Important To Me? 'Deep Sleep' is an important project to me not only because its the most biggest challenging project I've tackled so far, but because it can be a film that can allow me to prove my talent and potential as a filmmaker. When I went and saw 'Inception', I had no idea what it was about really, and went into the theater unexpected. As the film finished, and I walked out of the theater, a feeling came over me that inspires me everyday. I was completely blown away. I want to create that same feeling in everyone of my films. Thanks for taking the time to read this, it is deeply appreciated. Please take a second or so and spread the word around about this project. It needs it! Thanks again, Will Jacobs Actor, Director, Writer, and Producer of 'Deep Sleep'
  7. **Camera Test I shot this all with Natural light. I had the camera for the weekend and so I was alone in this shoot and with my limited time I wasn't able to really control the natural light like I would want to. Nevertheless it was a good shoot, I wanted to push the camera to the very dark and bright places. **Concept Idea I want to make a kind of poetic visual and lyrical film. Think, Terrence Malick. This is a proof of concept. Please leave comments with Ideas, thoughts, questions. I shot this handheld without a rig. Some shots are pretty shaky, I'm sorry. Thank you for your time. Color Corrected, no CG RED-Scarlet Zeiss 50mm (All night time shots, house INT) Tokina 11-16mm Canon 70-200mm

  13. Hi, does anybody know if 35mm x2 anamorphic primes can be used with the Ikonoskop. Like the Lomo PL- anamorphic prime lenses for example? I know I'll need to pillar box. x1.33 or x1.5 hawk anamorphics aren't easily found in my country.

We received a lot of praise for the camera work among teachers and peers, but I'm looking for more opinions, or what i can improve on. It is about a young boy returning to his home, years after an apocalypse following y2k. Feel free to comment on this forum or the video's page. thank you. WWW.vimeo.com/braceylemons/64cents

Anyhow, it's made it into the semi-finalists (95) films in FocusForward festival and needs your views/votes to continue! I hope you like it, critiques are most welcome.
