  1. Hi! I'm downscaling my Super 16-kit and it's time to let go of these beautiful lenses. First got them to use with an Ikonoskop A-cam dII but lately I've used them for s16 film cameras (Arri Sr2, Aaton a-minima and Arri 416). Actually also tried them on a Gh4 (with mft-pl-adapter) and from 12mm and up they cover the sensor in 4k mode. They are in really good mechanical and optical condition. Some paint wear on the housings but all focus marks and text is clearly visible. So what I've got is: Zeiss Super Speed mkII Super 16mm lenses. All T1.3. 9,5mm, 12mm, 25mm and 50mm. Will sell individual lenses or all at once. I'm hoping to get a deal done quickly so first come first served (hope that's the correct english expression for it…). Prices reasonable, please contact me if you are seriously interested and we'll discuss it. Lenses are located in Stockholm but I will ship world wide (but EU preferred). Best regards/Kalle Folke, Sweden www.kallefolke.se

  5. Hello, I recently inherited an Arriflex SR2 Super 16 film camera and a bunch of lens! I would like to sell them but I am having trouble figuring out if they are MKI, MKII or MKII variety and if they are pl mount or Arriflex bayonet mount. This is the information I have on them so far: Zeiss 9.5mm Distagon 1:12 T1.3 Superspeed Zeiss 12mm Distagon 1:12 T1.3 Superspeed Zeiss 16mm Distagon 1:12 T1.3 Superspeed Zeiss 25mm Distagon 1:12 T1.3 Superspeed Zeiss/Optex 12-120mm T2.4 Does any one know how I can tell what type of MK series they came from and the type of mount they have? (I think it's a PL mount but I want to make sure as I live in a small town and will have to ship them to someone who is far away.)
  6. Hi there everyone, Just wished to know what kind of circular filter would fit/cover a zeiss 11-110, a super 16 zoom lens? Will a Tiffen 86C from B&H photo video be good enough? thanks
  7. For sell a Zeiss SuperSpeed 9.5mm T1.3 S16, a great luminous wide angle cine lens. I sell it because i search a zoom instead of primes. Price is 900 Euros + shipping. Regarding the state of the optics there is no mushroom / fungus / dust inside. There are slight "cleaning marks" on the glass, as well on the front and rear element, obviously not affecting the image. But there is no claw or crack on the glass. I bought it for a French DP who took great care. Cosmetically really in good condition, the paint and the numbers / lettering are there. The aperture ring is very fluid, the focus ring is less fluid, a little harder, but it doesen't affect the focus at all, change focus is easy. Super Speeds are among the best Super 16 lens and they have been used on many feature films. The resulting image is still impressive today. This is a test that I realized with the Blackmagic Pocket: https://vimeo.com/129887125 I am at your disposal for any additional questions, optic can be seen in Belgium. The lens is Arri Bayonet mount, also i sell the adapter Arri Bayonet to MFT from Ciecio7 for 90 euros extra. This adapter is one of the best available adapter and is shimmable: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Arri-Bayonet...-/251176724708

Specs: 28mm t2.2 35mm t2.2 50mm t2.3 75mm t2.2 (see attached image) Thank you!

  13. Hi all. I wonder if anyone owns the Nikon G to BMPCC Speed Booster from Metabones? It says it works with Nikon G lens. But my question is: Would this work with a Zeiss ZF.2 Nikon mount? I've seen reviews of many people mentioning only Nikkor an Sigma lenses used with this adapter. But I need to know if it works with the Zeiss. Thanks, Flavio

  18. Hi I have the option to use either the cooke mini s4i or the Zeiss Master Zoom 16.5-110mm. The camera that I will be using is the Arri Alexa XT Studio. Can you guys help me choose by informing me about the pros and cons of one over the other? Just by going through the specs I have noticed that the master zooms are really really heavy (12.5kg!) so a steadicam/movi shot seems out of the equation. If anyone here has used both they can possibly share their experiences. Cheers!

  21. Thought I'd post a short film I finished a short while back. I wanted to text a batch of 64D I had in the fridge while working with a new DP and lab. (Video and Film Solutions, Rockville, MD). Rather than film a roll,of my hometown I adapted a dream my friend had into a quick micro short film about the end of the world. Really pleased with the outcome and don't know why more shorts aren't filed inSuper 16. Tech info: Aaton XTR ZEISS Super Speed MKI FUJI 64D Lab and transfer: Video and a Film Solutions Thank you for watching
  22. Good morning, I'm having a hard time deciding between Zeiss CP2 vs ZF.2 to use on a 5D body. Lenses are optically identical but the Zeiss representative said that differences could be seen in the bokeh (14 aperture blades with CP.2 lenses vs. 9 aperture blades in the SLR lenses) and the better stray light reduction with CP.2 lenses. How noticeable could that be? Because I do not want to compromise the quality. The reason why I am considering ZF.2 is because of the considerably smaller size and wider aperture. The smooth cine-like focus ring on CP2 is great but can it become a huge burden if used by the cameraman himself with the camera mounted on a shoulder rig? That's my biggest concern because I do not have a lot of experience in using cine-type focus rings and I do not want to make the shooting hard, compromising the quality and maybe even physically impossible. The sturdiness, build quality and features of CP2s are really great but can it cripple the cameraman if he's just operating alone and handheld? Or is there absolutely no reason to go with it if the production is more guerilla and smaller size and weigth could matter (if the quality is identical(?)) ? That response about different bokeh makes me wonder...because I liked it on the CP2 but I've never used ZF and do not have the chance to compare them. Thank you very much in advance!
  23. Edit: Sorry about the repost, the title got mixed up and I don't know how to delete posts. wonderful first impression : ) Edit 2: Ah, duck. The title is still 10-20.000 . It should have been 10-20.000€ vintage PL set for feature film. FIRSTLY Sorry about the title, I am horrible at this. FOREWORD Hello. This is my first posting in this forum and I don’t think it will be my last : ). I’m still young and there are lots of things that I don’t know about cinematography. So if I’m wrong somewhere, please correct me and feel free to tell me your thoughts. I have studied cinematography autodidactively, read the ASC Mag, Painting with Light, Film Lighting and books like that for quite some time now and have a handful of questions as I am currently approaching my first feature film. I can’t really say a lot about it at this moment but it will all come in the future. THE PROJECT The film takes place in the late 60s and the sets will be old european buildings and modernist 50s & 60s architecture (Wright, Rose, Bauhaus, …) My moods are 2001: A Space Odyssey, Dr.Strangelove, Lola Montes, Touch of Evil, Brazil, North by Northwest, Yojimbo and Grand Budapest Hotel. I know it’s a bit colourful and partly entirely different but these are some the films that will inspire the look of this project. I would love to use film, which there is not enough budget and my first digital choice would be an Alexa. Now, there might not be enough budget for that as well and Even though I never wanted to do that, I’m thinking about/kind of pre-decided on a red dragon camera. I am not looking for a digital look, which sounds funny, but you know what I mean. I also won’t shoot 16mm because I want as much lens coverage as I can get. And I don’t want all that film hassle on my first feature, where I’ll have enough hassles already. The plan is too use the entire sensor (only possible in 6K) and tuning it down to 4K DPX Seqs. (Also handy for stabilizing shots). If I’m using vintage lenses and a 1/8 pro mist filter or something like that I’ll be fine. My first idea was to use 1.33x anamorphic lenses and I would really like to do that to get even more space. I didn’t find any 1.33x anam lens wider than 25mm, which is a 19 on FF (stretched to final image). And I want something a bit wider. More like a 14mm or 16mm FF equivalent. I thought about using the Letus Anamorphx Adapter. I don’t know how good it is, or what it can and can’t handle as there are few reviews out there. I would really like to test it though, but there are none in Austria, where I live. I am buying looking into buying lenses for the project and there will be 10-20k euros for that. Why not rent? because you can’t rent any vintage PL glass in Austria and I also really want that glass : ) . I also thought that maybe the set and dressing alone will have enough vintage flair and I could use newer lenses, like the CP.2s. THE DREAM I’m looking for something like this. 14mm - 21mm - 28mm - 35mm - 50mm - 80mm SOME LENS SET OPTIONS _ 2-3 anamorphic lenses + something like a 14mm Arri/Zeiss PL with an anamorphx (or not) I am afraid though, that the 14mm shots would look very different than the anam shots. The Anamorphx Adapter could fix some of that, but who knows. I also thought about the Tokina 11-16 cine rehousing but I’m even more worried about fixing up that look opposed to a 14mm Zeiss. _ An old PL Set + Anam Adapter _ CP.2s + Anam Adapter Maybe the 1/8 Filter + the Anam Adapter could deliver our vintage look? _ An old PL set and shooting 16:9 ACTUAL QUESTIONS I would love to hear your thoughts on it and if you have any other ideas or know any other anamorphic adapter aside the LV7200 and the anamorphx. What other filter I could use for achieving a “vintage look”. Another approach to this entire thing. P.S. Sorry if the post is too long : )

  25. Just finished a film and selling (3) Super 16 lenses. All of them were overhauled by Abelcine and the gears renewed with teflon a month ago by VP. The are all super clean, project sharp and clear. Only a few cleaning marks on them due to age. The 50mm Illumina is super sharp. If you buy a random lens on Ebay, you will most likely have to pay $$ to get it up to speed. That work has already been done to these. Zeiss 16mm MKIII s/n 7500048 Zeiss 25mm MKIII s/n 7500143 Optar Illumina 50mm s/n 9725013 Send me a PM, sensible offers welcome. Selling individual or as a set. I have receipts, more pics, and details. Thanks, Martin
