  1. Recently I've been having an odd specific problem with my AATON XTR Plus. For some reason lately I lose 24FPS crystal sync and my camera will periodically drop to 20FPS. It happens erratically with no clear reason. I've caught the issue in the eyepiece, cut and re roll then the LCD will go back to displaying 24FPS It's happened in a variety of situations, using both voltage regulated gold mount adapters and the original 12v AATON batts. I'm fairly convinced it is not a power issue. The FPS speed dial on the camera is locked firmly at 24. Has anyone had this issue with their AATON? Here's a video showing the issue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q16IpTVHACo Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated Thanks
  2. Curious if anyone has seen a solution that allows a WCU4 or Preston to run/stop an XTR Prod. Would be great to have for steadicam builds/in general.
  3. Hi all, I own an Aaton XTR s16 camera. Currently I have a PL hard mount on the camera and have only used the camera with rented PL glass, but I also own the original Aaton Mount, which has a much shorter FFD than the PL mount (40mm compared with PL 52mm). So I’m looking for adapters that would allow me to put vintage lenses (with ffds between 40mm and 52mm) on the camera that will cover the s16 film plane (i.e. m42, Canon FD, Nikon f, etc). Does anyone know if there are any adapters out there that would allow me to put any of these lenses on my Aaton camera mount? If so, where can I find them? Thanks for your help! - Clay

  6. Hey everyone, I just wanted to share some of my favorite stills from a short film I shot over a year ago. We shot on 16mm 1.33:1 aspect ratio on Kodak 7219 500T Vision 3 on an Aaton XTR. The film is about this man who has confidence issues and decides to get a new ego. The page count was around 24 pages and we had 6 shooting days and I believe we had a 6:1 shooting ratio. This was the longest page count I had shooting on film. Our lighting package consisted of (2) 4x4 kinos, (1) litemat 2L, (1) joker 800, and (2) tweenies. It was a small shoot and I'm proud of the outcome and the work of my rather small camera and lighting team. I can possibly share the password protected link if anyone is interested. Thanks!
  7. AATON XTR SER1352 As time goes by my Ground Glass is no longer centered in the frame it has slipped downward as I look into the eyepiece. Is there something I can do to adjust it "upward" I have also noticed that when the top line of the ground glass is in focus the bottom is a little out. Is there an easy way to adjust the ground glass back to factory setting without sending it away for service? I have a shoot this Tuesday and I'd like to fix it if possible Thanks in advance.
  8. Does anyone know if using anamorphic lenses on S16mm was common before the release of the Hawk V-Lite16 lenses? I'm looking to shoot a project on these lenses soon and am hoping to use an Aaton XTR, just wondering if it will be easy to find an anamorphic viewfinder attachment for the camera. Or if it would be better to go with a SR camera. A 416 seems to be out of the question for now due to budget reasons. I believe this camera shares the viewfinder design with the SR cameras anyway. (the 416 I used just had SR ground glass in it.) Alternatively what other (if any) Anamorphic 16mm lenses are available in Los Angeles. - M
