  1. I’m selling my Aaton LTR 54 camera package and six lenses. I’m located in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. The camera (serial no. 1096) is factory-original Super 16 and features a nice internal black and white video tap, purchased from and installed by Visual Products several years back. In the kit: two mags, three batteries, Aaton charger, right-hand grip, and a solid case. The camera was last serviced in 2010 and hasn’t been used much since then. It is in generally good shape. Only two known issues: the rubber film guides in the mags have dissolved (this is apparently a common problem and can be fixed) and the batteries need re-celling. Also, the wooden right-hand grip was broken and repaired when I first got it, but it’s only a cosmetic problem — the grip functions properly and feels very nice in hand. I’ll sell the lenses individually or as a set. I have four Optar Illumina primes (9.5mm, 16mm, 25mm, and 50mm) in Arri B-mount. Plus a Zeiss 85mm prime that has been converted to Aaton mount, and an Aaton mount Angenieux 15-150mm zoom lens. I’m asking $4,000 for the camera as-is and $1,000 each for the lenses. If you’d prefer me get the batteries and mags fixed before selling it, I’m asking $5,000 for the camera. If you buy four or more of the lenses, I’ll throw in the Pelican case. And if want everything — the camera and all the lenses — I’ll come down on the price. If you have any questions about anything or want more info, just let me know. And if you’d like to reach me off list, feel free to text me (205-427-2850) or email me at chance@crewless.com. And you can see photos of everything on my OneDrive... https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqJuGMR4C7hqkFR0MLBsIabWtMyh?e=PnluVW Thanks!
  2. Hi everyone! I'm a young filmmaker that has recently decided to dedicate myself completely to shooting on film. I've been shooting 16mm for years, but have never owned a camera myself. I've decided to invest in a camera as I'm always on the go, and to keep borrowing cameras is getting too complicated. I'm searching for either an Eclair ACL II or the Aaton LTR 54 (also open to LTR 7).
  3. Hi everyone, I own an Aaton LTR 7, and I was hoping someone would be able to offer some advice on a bridge plate / rig that would be compatible. The wooden grip handle that came with the camera constantly comes loose and is more annoying than practical for handheld shooting. I'd prefer to just sort a set up with rails and moose bars that I can adjust more easily. I found an ARRI BP-5 on ebay but it seems that they work best with 35mm / Digital cameras. Can anyone recommend an alternative bridge plate that could work? Any suggestions/ recommendations would be super appreciated! Thanks
  4. Hello I'm a writer currently at work on a novel in which one of the main characters is a cinematogapher/auteur. (he's making a documentary). He uses an Aaton LTR 54 and the story is set in the late '70s - early 80's. I've tried without success to get my hands on one these cameras and I'm aware that merely reading a cinematography manual will only give me a fairly superficial idea of what it is to make such a film using this sort of camera. However, at the moment it's the best I can do. Aside from a reasonable grounding in the technicalities of the LTR I'm mainly interested in the practicalities of shooting in certain kinds of natural light (indoors and out), weather conditions, and so on. If there's anyone who can recommend a good cinematography manual on the basics of shooting 16mm, (and if possible, with an Aaton LTR) I'd be very grateful if you'd respond to this. Many thanks, Graeme Williamson
