  1. Selling my maxed-out and much loved Apple Mac Pro 5,1. This big old beast of a workhorse has been heavily customised to squeeze out every last ounce of performance for video post-production work. With the most powerful processors available for it, the largest and fastest RAM configuration (six 16GB DIMMs to take advantage of the computer’s three-channel memory), and AMD’s latest and greatest 5700XT GPU (which puts up impressive Metal-compute numbers, and features AMD’s 7nm NAVI architecture), there’s also a 4-port USB 3.1 card from Sonnet which provides 10Gbps transfer speeds (approximately 90
  2. Hello everyone! As jobs get bigger, the need for a floorplan software gets bigger. What kind of software are you using? And on which platform are you working?
  3. I had this impression, and now it looks like a lot more than that, for some time now that the apps for iOS are either better or exist exclusively for it. I thought, at least in a case of one particular app, that somehow Apple secretly incentivizes that app's developers to always make it better for Apple's devices and that they might have some kind of a secret contract that slows down Android development in favour of iOS. Then a few days ago I typed into Google "why are apps better for ios". This popped up in one of the results (it's from 2015): Young people I talk to with And

  5. Back to black. (Finally.) The computer will set you back $5000. At least. The maxed out model will then be what – $12,000? More than $10,000 for sure, I should think. Lovely thingy. Appearing in stores in December. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a38_qR-S8Yo https://www.apple.com/imac-pro/
  6. Well, this is not how to shoot video, but still photographs, and it's been out there for about two weeks now. I wanted to ask you what do you think about it. Certainly none of you need this, but specifically I wanted to know what's up with this "lower the exposure" when shooting during golden hour? In my view, the photo would've looked much better if they let the exposure alone, even if the part of the face are overexposed. (BTW, does that golden hour look a little bit like not yet golden hour? I think that at one point it's as if you can just about see that someone has just warmed up the ligh
  7. Apple's long-awaited new MBP's are finally out - LINK. And I think Apple has just made me a Windows user. Thinner, lighter, new display... Touch bar on the top row of the keyboard, 2x bigger trackpad... And ONLY 4x USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) ports and a headphone jack. I'm in need of a new laptop for wrangling, but I'm not going to pay OVER AUD$5000 for a machine that's not functional out of the box. Thoughts? What are other AC's using for wrangling?
  8. Any announcement from this year’s WWDC that you liked? :) Or did the conference perhaps disappoint you?
  9. Hey guys, Any ideas on how this scene was lit or how would you light it its from a recent apple commercial? Appreciate any feedback. Cheers!
