  1. I'm thinking one of my Arri 2c magazines has a leak since some footage has come back throbbing. Is there a method for testing this? Like closing a little light inside it and see if you can detect any light coming through in a dark room? Thanks!
  2. I've recently acquired a 2c with a constant speed, and a variable speed motor, and now my question is the best way to power them. I was told 16 volts is the appropriate type for this camera. One of my Aaton batteries happens to be running 15.6 volts and seems to power the constant speed motor fine, but for high speed stuff, would a 24 volt motor be a problem? 12/24v batteries seem way more common. Thanks.

    What is this?

I've been watching an ARRI 2C on ebay. Looks nice, but the seller has a Cine 60 "battery pack" attached to the base of the camera which the constant speed motor/handgrip is also sitting on. I contacted the seller and was told that it's a battery pack, but it looks more like a charger to me. But doesn't the motor need to be connected to a power cable during operation, in any case? So what is the purpose of this other than making the camera bulkier? I'm probably missing something very obvious. Hopefully, someone can enlighten me. Here are two photos:
