Two weeks ago I had the chance to take a Sony Venice out and shoot a part of a short film on it. Sony kindly let me and my team test it out. Now we are rendering proxies for our film editor, and weird stuff happened. On some of the 6k X-OCN St footage that I processed through Davinci Resolve 14, colors went really odd. I mean, really odd.   4. Hey guys, I’ve a question on Davinci and the way its waveform deals with the blacks. I’m grading a project aimed for the big screen, I set my level to data (and data level also for export), did all my grading, but notice the blacks stay around 128 on my waveform and when I try to lower them and crush them toward 0 the picture just get way too dark. I don’t have any broadcast safe line active and such things. Is that due to the fact my computer display in 8bits? so the moment I try to lower the blacks, I just get super blacks? So if I export this graded version and play it on my comp

Hei guys, I need some help and wonder if any of you creates DCP in DaVinci and if it's possible doing it this way. situation I have a short film (10min long), final export full HD at 25fps 16:9 (but we shot in 2.39 scope so it comes with letterbox). So far Festivals have always been asking for a vimeo link or DVD, and now we've been selecting for a Festival accepting only DCP. in DaVinci in the exporting setting I know you have the video format option of easyDCP -codec: 2K DCP (there's also the option of flat and scope, but I thought as the final export is 16:9 to keep the c

  9. Hi, So in Davinci Resolve we have used one long continuous take that we have cut up in various places and into multiple shots. When I apply a LUT to one of the shots, it applies it to all of the shots as the camera was rolling the whole time and it is all coming from the same file. I just want to apply a LUT to one of the shots and not have it apply to all of them, how do I do this? Hope that makes sense thanks
  10. I recently pushed DaVinci Resolve further than I have yet. A project came in that needed a bit of compositing, and I tackled in right in DaVinci Resolve.   11. I have my movie in about 150,000 dpx files. I need to create a .mov proress 444. Everyone is telling me to use davinci resolve (lite) since it's free. However, I am reading that you can only output HD and SD and I need it in 2k... I had it color corrected by a colorist using da vinci... and they left the country. I have FCP and compressor. not compressor 4 though. I tried color, and FCP and compressor but nothing works... does Compressor 4 work or is there a software I could get a demo or trial version of and do this myself?

  13. Hello, I'm relatively new to DV and recently installed version 9 after coming from 8.2. I've looked around on the net for problems regarding this issue and have basically hit a wall - the problems that most people have had were with the same anomaly I've been trying to deal with. Problems: Finalized file has a bar at the top of the video that flickers on and off. The entire frame will do this as well randomly throughout a clip. Along with the above, say I apply a LUT and grade it, then render. In the final file the video flickers back and forth between the graded footage and th
