Good day film folks. Recently B&H had a special where they advertised a sale on the new Litepanels Gemini 2x1 bicolor LED soft panel. This is Litepanels answer to the popular but expensive Arri Skypanel. You can check out the comparisons online and I decided it would be a good choice for a more affordable price. I went for the US plug option which has a manufacturer product code 940-1301. B&H currently sells this item for $4,512.50. On their special which appears to have had ended, they sold the product for $3,194.85. Thats a huge savings. So I jumped on the chance and bought 2. I have my receipt and invoice from B&H and they both state that the product is 940-1301. I went to register the product and discovered that my lights were labeled by Litepanels as 940-1001. Has anyone else bought these lights from B&H under this special? Whats your product code? Has anyone else bought this product at the full price? And if you have, whats your product code on the back of you light? I ask because I have found that product code on other websites, namely eBay and at Texas Media Systems and on both sites they refer to the code 940-1001 as B-stock - refurbished. I have written Litepanels and expect an answer shortly about what that code means. I will update when I get that answer. Of course I also have to have words with B&H but I am doing my research first. In the meantime I am very curious if anyone else has had this experience. bless JAH
Hi, everyone It's my first time posting here :) I've received my first test roll (Kodak 200T) from the lab, shot with my K-3 and the 17mm-69mm Zenit. Loaded carefully in semi-darkness and unloaded in total darkness. Camera was covered with plastic tape when filming (except the meter counter). I found two issues: There are light leaks all over the footage. Not following a constant pattern, some shots are more affected than others but always with the same shape. I've attached two stills of them. I set the speed at 24fps but the footage is in fast motion with the telecine at 24fps. It looks as it was filmed between 12fps or 14fps. I made two shots at 48fps additionally and that ones are running at the correct speed to me. Is it possible that the fps dial is not matching the actual speed? Thank you very much everyone, Marcos
Hello, I'm relatively new to DV and recently installed version 9 after coming from 8.2. I've looked around on the net for problems regarding this issue and have basically hit a wall - the problems that most people have had were with the same anomaly I've been trying to deal with. Problems: Finalized file has a bar at the top of the video that flickers on and off. The entire frame will do this as well randomly throughout a clip. Along with the above, say I apply a LUT and grade it, then render. In the final file the video flickers back and forth between the graded footage and the stock footage. -- I haven't had any noise issues or anything of that sort, just random flickers -- Possible Solutions I've found and (or) attempted: Upgrade to the latest Cuda Drivers - 5.0.35 Disable SLI (tried rendering with 1 GPU and still had problem) Check frame rate to make sure the master matches the file Tried rendering as multiple filetypes Disable all audio * there might be some others but they don't come to mind right away, what I did find is that a lot of the macos users that had similar problems needed an OS update. ------------------------------------- The footage was shot on a 60D, 1080p @ 24fps as a .mov The media rendered, was rendered to a .mov along with a .#res file as well. I've included my project settings below - feel free to point out anything that seem obviously out of place ^_^ Along with that, here is a clip of the actual problem. NOTE: The flickering at the end of the video is not the candle. You can also observe the bar at the top of the frame that spans horizontally while flickering. http://lanelehman.com/V1-0001_MVI_9526.mp4 System Information: Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.120503-2030) Processor: Intel® Core i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz (12 CPUs), ~4.2GHz Memory: 16384MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Display Devices: Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce GTX 560 Display Memory: 4050 MB Dedicated Memory: 978 MB Shared Memory: 3072 MB Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (59Hz) Driver File Version: 9.18.0013.0694 (English) Driver Version: 126.96.36.1994 Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce GTX 560 Display Memory: 4050 MB Dedicated Memory: 978 MB Shared Memory: 3072 MB Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (59Hz) Driver File Version: 9.18.0013.0694 (English) Driver Version: 188.8.131.524 Thanks for any replies I get here, I really appreciate the time taken to read all of this.
