Guest JohnDz
Hello everyone, I realize that this is probably a very novice question. I have taken reflective and incident light readings. However, I have been reading about spot meters and taking spot readings. Could someone please tell me what that is? Thanx for the help. Sincerely, John
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted May 8, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted May 8, 2004 A spot meter is just a reflective meter that measures only a narrow angle of view or small target area, hence why taking a reading with it is called a "spot reading" sometimes since you are measuring such a small spot in the frame. Premium Member John Pytlak RIP Posted May 8, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted May 8, 2004 Taking "spot readings" of light reflected from various points in the scene can be used to estimate how various scene elements will print, much like in the Zone System: http://www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/support/...uctureP.shtml#p
