Hi, I'm shooting a short film soon and I'm looking for a diffrent look.

I thuoght to shoot with 7250 reversal stock and develop it like it was negative. Is it really like doing with slides, can I predict the result if I do tests with slides?

Thanks,

Ariel

That's called cross-processing. You should certainly shoot tests but it's not the most controllable process. You really have to use the same reversal stock and the same color negative processing -- so doing it in stills with an Ektachrome E6 film and C-41 processing is not going to get you the same results as with a Ektachrome VNF film and ECN-2 processing.

Can someone write me more about this experience? Did you try that? What are the risks?

I will appreciate any information about shooting reversal, especialy 7240 and 7250 and about the cross-processing.

I have to decide really fast because here in Israel it's not easy to get reversal stocks, it takes time...

Thanks,

Some articles about "cross processing":

Remember, these are "non standard" ways of processing film, so you need to work closely with your lab in testing and evaluating the particular methods they offer.
