Valentina Caniglia
Dear all, I am shooting a feature film in feb. One of the scene will require a kino in frame flickering. Do you have any ideas how achive that? I thought about plugging the kino on a flicker box or kino flo w/ballast 512DMX plugged in a flicker box. Any other ideas how to achieve that? Thanks in advance V.
Ryan Puckett
Does it have to be a kino? Or just a florescent tube? It would be easy just to use a cheap commercial flo lamp/ballast, and let it flicker like it naturally wants to. Opposed to taking something specifically designed not to flicker, and then downgrading it...

It sounds strange, but I got the same thing done by noticing when a business I went into had a tube that was almost bad and was flickering. I told them I'd give them a couple bucks for it. I got a few tubes this way and it worked like a charm.
