A.Oliver
Hi, well we're in the last months of kodachrome in the cine format, when will kodak officially announce the end of kodachrome. How long before the lab in Switzerland closes to 16mm processing.

And seeing as how k-14 chemicals will probably be sold as long as kodachrome is available for still photography use. You will probably be able to have it processed somewhere. Premium Member Will Montgomery Posted January 20, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted January 20, 2006 I'm pretty sure they recently made a new batch of Kodakchrome 16mm and will probably make some more. The Kodak reps are always surprised when I order it, and even more surprised when they find it... but several reps I've talked to said it may eventually go away but the demise of Super 8 version doesn't mean 16mm is going away immediately. In the mean time, that EKTACHROME 100D 7285 is a really great stock if you're into projecting your film.

Premium Member John Pytlak RIP Posted January 20, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted January 20, 2006 Hi, your remaining very quiet on this one John!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do I really need to say anything? Your speculation is interesting to watch, but any decision will be based on the business case. Nostalgia is certainly a part of that business case. Whether a film is profitable and whether it supports other goals of the business are other parts of the business case.
Robert Hughes
Oh, I'm going to die in about 30 years. What's the point in getting out of bed anymore? :(
zrszach
Maybe you aren?t getting the replies you want because pretty much all you have been doing this past week is clogging this forum with complaints about k40 going away. It seems that all you can do is complain about it. It?s almost like you think Kodak is out to get you personally. Stop beating this horse? its dead. Start making films instead.
