Jacek Zagaja
I also use Beaulieu MAR8 with Pan-Cinor lens (built in viewfinder) - this is perfect combo but no film stock. Very bright viewfinder. I've never use Arri or Aaton or Bolex.
Brian Drysdale
I don't know that camera, but I seem to recall the Angenieux 12-120 combned V/F having a ground glass centre (for focusing), which got darker, and a clearer area around it. Some 8mm cameras had the same thing.
Jacek Zagaja
Beaulieu is also reflex mirror, diaphragm is in lens and viewfinder is dark. What about Bolex H16 with 13x mag? Real comfort?
Jacek Zagaja
My Scoopic 16MS started to run only at max speed regardless of dial setting. Anyone has idea why?
Jacek Zagaja
I've sent my MM and MS to Mr Stanislaw Kwiatkowski kwiatfilm-at-yahoo.com he has over 50 years experience, country Poland. Problem with MS is IC that is no longer avaiable and motor runs at max speed. I don't know why this happened because I lend it to a friend. Jesse Andrewartha
Hello, I don't like one thing of this camera. Radioactive lenses. I don't know if MS model have this kind lenses but all the others model I have cheeked have it. In concrete have a thorium oxide rare earth lens inside the optical group. Measured at 1/4" from the radioative lens in my camera, had about 380mR. It's a dangerous level...But this in a few inches to the lenses, it reduces the radiation level to a normal levels I think you need to have your counter calibrated or redo your math. Depending on your calibration, you're suggesting your lens gives off about 500,000 counts per minute. I haven't ever seen anything like that in any lens at any distance. Even in the massive 305mm / f2.5 aero-ektars with thorium elements that are now yellowed from radiation, the max is about 400-600 counts per minute at the lens surface.
