Guest Andrew Evans
Hello, I am looking into buying a film camera. I was looking at a few different Arri S packages and was wondering a few things. Can the S be converted into super 16 and if it can what kind of expenses am I looking at. Also, one of the cameras is an older model that does not have a bayonet mount and I was wondering if that would cause me any problems if I was planning on converting to super 16? Also, any advice about buying a camera in general would be appreciated. Thanks
Premium Member Nathan Milford Posted March 2, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted March 2, 2006 Upgradin an ARRI S to S16 is not an easy matter. The guys at Du-All are working on a process, last I heard it'd be like $2500.00 or so, but it might have changed. And yes, you would want the SB, because most S16 lenses (that aren't already in PL mount) are in Arri Bayo mount. - nathan
Guest Andrew Evans
Is it possible to convert a lens mount on the older Arri S to a bayounet mount, then to super 16 from there? If I did this would I absolutely have to get new lenses?
