Premium Member Hal Smith Posted March 27, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted March 27, 2006 sorry I want to say ARRI 35 II My personal Arri 2A is serial number 4937. It's a 2A that was later upgraded to 2C pulldown, gate, and pressure plate.

Premium Member Hal Smith Posted March 29, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted March 29, 2006 Thanks Hal are there much difference between 2A and 2B? sorry I´m a newbie in arri 35 cameras... thanks It's late and I'm headed for bed but....off the top of my head. There was a change in film drive claw during the 2B run, the later "cardiod" claw mechanism is said to be better but I've never seen anyone say to throw a 2A in the garbage, I believe the real advantage of the later claw is it's capable of higher speeds while still holding good registration. Some tests with cheap short ends would resolve those issues for you pretty quickly. The shutter angle is quite a bit less on the original 2A, nothing to panic about, you just need some more light with all other things equal. And the viewfinder is supposed to give a smaller and dimmer image. I've got the original in mine and it's still pretty good.
