Guest kev5000
I'm planning a shoot using an Arri S were we film items being broken in slow motion. I'm trying to find a motor that can run at least 64fps and over but have had no luck in finding one. Does such a motor exist for the Arri S and where. The Arri variable speed motor only runs up to 50 fps. Thanks

I run across one every now and then. They go up to 80fps if memory serves. Running 12 volts through the standard Arri variable speed motor can sometimes make them run faster than 50fps (it can also burn them out), but you risk damaging the camera unless you have one that goes to 80fps. -Tim Carroll
Sean Charlesworth
TCS sells a 12V motor that will go to 50, but they do mention you can use 14-16V for 60+. They just recommend not doing it very much. The only other trick is to have an S where the tach goes higher than 50, because like the original motor, the TCS isn't marked with FPS.
