Matt Frank
My company recently purchased a back up LTR-7 on Ebay and on one of the magazines there are 3 small rubber pads on the feed side of the magazine. They are at like 12, 4, and 8 oclock positions. The person I bought it from said Abel put them on the last time he had it serviced and to just take them off, but I wanted to get some of your opinions before I do. Have any of you seen these before? Thanks in advance.
Brian Drysdale
Yes, they seem to act as surfaces for the film to rub against when a roll is slightly dished. I suspect it's quieter than the film rubbing against the metal and also less friction.
Premium Member Nathan Milford Posted April 3, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted April 3, 2006 They're plastic, or atleast they should be, I've seen people replace them with rubber though... They're there to try to stop film from dishing. We typically remove them as they wear easily and replace them will steel cylinders that fit in the same space.
