wingfilm
Thanks to everyone who wrote me on my previous topic. Now I'm looking to find out what digital cameras would be good for filmmaking, as in something not too expensive that will carry me a long way, since I'm a beginner but a quick learner.) Also, what types of software or equipment suggestions for when I am ready to put the film together? Thanks gh
Nate Downes
If you're planning on going digital, a camera that will carry you for a "long time" is nonexistant. The nature of the digital beast is one of continuous upgrades to equipment and proceedure. Whatever camera purchased today, expect it to be replaced in 18-24 months. Keeping that in mind, the Panasonic DVX100 is an excellent camera, I had an opportunity to try one out last night and was very impressed. Being the latest and greatest, it will go further than, for example, the Canon XL1S. But don't expect to be using it in 3-5 years time. My 2 bits.
