Simon
Im not very technical and dont understand all the compression and quality loss issues. Basically I want to record footage straight from the HD100 to the pc, but I understand will I lose quality of picture if I do this because it will be compressed, oppose to using a tape deck. is this true? what sources can I read to get more clued up on these issues? any help thanks.. Raymond O'Neil
Hi Simon, you sent me an email some time ago asking about HD100. I just replied to it, apologize for the delay but I've been busy with my film. Don't worry about compression issues. I've wasted countless hours asking, researching, and punding my head over these issues that in the end do not matter at all. The quality of this camera is amazing if you know how to handle it i.e. - light, film, iris, lens, etc. and of course if you know what to tell and how to tell. This is what matters in the end. I shoot on tape (HDV) and trust me the image quality is superb. Rati
