Marc Weisz
Hello- I have a 35mm project coming up next month and a friend of mine has offered his 4x4 filter set for me to borrow. My question is what would be my options for using his filter set on the 35mm camera/lenses. As of now I will be using Zeiss super speed lenses (18mm ? 85mm). Will 4x4 filters cover those lenses? Should I go with a 4x4 mattebox? Or a larger mattebox with filter inserts to fit the 4x4 filters? Thanks. -Marc
Jon Kukla
IIRC, you should be fine with primes. It's with zooms that you start to need the 6 inchers.
Premium Member Adam Frisch FSF Posted September 7, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted September 7, 2006 The widest primes also needs their own filters (and often come with a clamp-on mattebox). The 18mm is fine, the 16mm is fine, but the 14mm, 12mm, 10mm need their own filters (or 6x6).
