Jason Maeda
i just read the book "film sound theory and practice", ed. elisabeth weis and john belton (columbia univ. press, 1985). it was really great and easy to read (in so far as being a compilation of many short essays and articles). i was wondering if anyone else here knows of any really informative books on sound in cinema. jk
Premium Member Charles Tomaras Posted February 14, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted February 14, 2004 My suggestion would be to read the book titled "How I ruined my back working in a field that gets very little respect for peanuts while the camera guys rake in the bucks then hire younger guys for less money with better backs." After that I'd read the book titled "My $75,000 worth of sound gear is now worth $5,000, nobody wants to pay me a rental on it anyway, and I have no retirement plan or health insurance." Finally I would read my favorite book entitled. "Learning to relax while broke and waiting for the phone to ring."
