11pin Fischer plug on 235

Arri not very forthcoming with info....

Anyone done this?

What functions do you require?

To my understanding the 11 pin Fischer plugs fitted to Arri's more recent cameras only give you the 12 volts to operate lens motors and similar things. None of the other functions of the older cameras such as remote off/on, tach pulses and so on are available from the fitted Fischer sockets on cameras like the 435 and Arricam.

To me it would hardly seem worth the trouble. An external 24 volt to 12 volt converter fitted with an inline Fischer socket might be better.

All the 11-pin plugs are 12V...for any higher voltage you'd have to get power from another source. I seem to recall from my floor tech days at CSC that there is some sort of accessory splitter box that they made for the 235, or maybe that's just wishful thinking. I ran a Transvideo monitor off an SR3 onboard battery once, using a battery charger cable. A lot of the Arriflex stuff is more interchangeable than one would initially think; you just have to be creative (without blowing anything up).
