How to Silence Eyemo Camera

Due to a recent revival of discussions concerning the EYEMO 35mm camera, I felt it appropriate to open a forum to discuss the methods of silencing the EYEMO, which, although it is a great steal for 35mm, makes a hell of a lot of noise.

The Eyemo MIGHT be somewhat silenced in a barney like that, when you run it on the spring it's not as deafeningly loud as an electric Arri II for instance.

But I doubt you'll get Panavision quiet with it. Don't even THINK about using such a barney if you intend to use the electric motors made for Eyemos. Those motors sound like a construction team is working in the same room as the talent.

Remember that the Eyemo's spring motor is wild, you won't get rock crystal 24 fps. You could of course screw around with the soundtrack in editing with speed variations and whatnot, but that's not fun. Take it from one who's done it a lot.
