Rich if you are around continuing saga:

Make that photographer turning cinematographer(training in progress).

You should hear Nikon photographers talk about Nikon glass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Canon used to be Nikon and split from Nikon many years ago, started

out making lenses. I want to test this new-fangled XL2 at B&H Photo in

New York City(about 3 hour drive for me) when they get it in store. I

might not like it at all and it may not be or do what we all expect!!!!!!!!!

I will say it again I Do Not Think The DX100/100A Is A Bad Camera Its

Not For Me. I respect Panasonic in the area of video very much! My girl

friend Stephanie(she calls me pops) shoots with DX100A and its been the

subject at many dinner tables! I won't let her touch PD-170! I'm not crazy

about women behind cameras and I think they should write, direct, or pro-

duce! (and never move anyones light once its set). If you are thinking

about a camera or cameras why not just try them all out and see which

one you like. One thing I like about my PD-170 is that when I'm shooting

(always in manual mode) I can reach the auto-focus button with my index

finger and focus super fast on my subject. Needless to say though you must

understand limitations of auto focus. Important! It is a top loader(tape)!!!!!

If I like the XL2 look at the great glass I have to choose from. To me my

PD-170 fits like a glove! I hope you find the camera right for you!!!!!!!!!!!
