Jamie Lewis
It's just the trailer but it looks like it will be fantastic. http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/nocountryforoldmen/ Edited July 17, 2007 by Jamie Lewis
Premium Member Max Jacoby Posted July 17, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted July 17, 2007 Some friends saw it in Cannes already and generally quite liked it. Apparently it's much better than the recent Coen Brother's films. Shot on the Master Primes btw.

Other than Intolerable Cruelty they were all fantastic. Even Intolerable Cruelty was easily watchable.
Christian Appelt
I thought LADYKILLERS was quite forgettable, but it had nothing to do with the cinematography. THE HUDSUCKER PROXY is one of my favorite Coen film in terms of photography, a pity it was not that successful. James Steven Beverly
Blood Simple followed by Raising Arizona,The Big Lebowski, Fargo, Miller's Crossing, Barton Fink, The Man Who Wasn't There and finally, O Brother, Where Art Thou?. Didn't really care for The Hudsucker Proxy and haven't seen Intolerable Cruelty or The Ladykillers yet, though why the Coens would want to remake a movie is beyond me. Their original scripts are unlike anything I've ever seen and THAT'S what they should be doing because no one does anything quite like it. I did see the original The Ladykillers and thought it was OK, nothing to write home about, I'm kinda surprised they saw something in it worth re-making. Jonathan Bowerbank
I rather liked Intolerable Cruelty and Ladykillers. They weren't as "special" as past Coen films, but fantastic films by anybody's standard. This one looks great, I'm glad to see them attacking another murder story :)
Premium Member Paul Bruening Posted July 24, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted July 24, 2007 Hey all, It's gotta' be tough to be a Coen and try to out-do your own, brilliant successes.
