Filip Plesha
Does anyone know what kind of film stock did they used for this film? Is it a negative (5254?) or some kind of reversal film?
Mitch Gross
Negative, on the only and only stock available at the time. 125 asa.
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted February 5, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted February 5, 2004 See: http://www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/about/chrono3.shtml Actually, 5254 was 100 ASA. After its replacement came out, 5247, with the same speed, the speed was re-rated by Kodak from 100 ASA to 125 ASA a couple of years later. 5254 came out in 1968 and was obsoleted by the new series 600 version of 5247 in 1976. However, there was an overlap of two years with the first version of 5247 (1974), which was used in Europe a little but rejected by U.S. cinematographers until improved by the Series 600 version in the summer of 1976 (at which point Kodak announced it was obsoleting 5254.) 5247 was introduced with the new ECN-2 development process.
