Repainting Old Fixtures

Gday,

I am currently looking at purchasing some older mole richardson lamps to strip down and recondition and was just wondering what type of paint would be best to use to repaint these fixtures?

You can order the real Mole paint right from them.

 

Other than that you can try high-heat engine paint in black or white.

Mole Richardson sells a high heat 'mole red' spray paint. I can take a look tomorrow and give you the part number.

I checked their web site and couldn't find it. It may be because as of last month, oil based paint is illegal in Los Angeles.

How did Mole arrive at such an ugly color? I've got four of their cans and find their color very unpleasing.

Check out Duplicolor, especially the engine paint. I've used their spray paint for many project and I quite liked them. They're not really cheap though, but strangely enough the car stuff is cheaper than their other stuff.
